Smoking Gun Productions was established by owner Jacob W Wellington in the August of 2014. The company started as a basic mobile sound solution for bands that simply did not have the financial means to hire a "full-sized" sound company in order to hold a show at venues without sound. It also served as copyright and trademark protection for all of its first signature artist’s (Faith in Vain) digita
l media compositions (i.e. In 2015 Smoking Gun Productions made the creation and sale of digital media available to the public at a fair and competitive price for the company's full color and high quality images. In late 2015 Smoking Gun Productions raised the bar with its media department and converted all media into a high resolution format (up to 700+ dpi) making the images notably clearer and more attention grabbing than other competitors. In 2016 Smoking Gun Productions launched a full-scale printing operation and now has in-house capacitance to not only design and compose digital media, but to print it as well. Most commonly the 11”x17” full size event posters and 4.25” x5.5” hand flyers. Along with the development in its media department, Smoking Gun Productions launched a merchandising branch offering very competitive price options along with the media team to design the products on pre- formatted templates, for shirts, koozies, and seveal other band merchandise items for printing. Smoking Gun since its creation has partaken in local band booking and promoting, but in 2016 Smoking Gun has taken on the task of becoming a "regional and national talent buying company" for touring bands from around the United States to have their tour packages purchased, managed, and legally handled to make the show happen in the greater Rockford Metropolitan Area. Smoking Gun Productions is aiming to be a band’s “one stop shop” for anything and everything related to live music. Smoking Gun Productions is an all inclusive resource for all live sound production needs and acts as a permeable membrane from bands to venues to make the shows successful in every aspect.
