82 unit plan approved for Edison Park:
Alderman Anthony Napolitano (41st) said that many residents have expressed hope the project “would spark more development in (the Edison Park business area) and … help spruce up the whole district.”
“The developer came to us first instead of going downtown (to City Hall). … They changed everything they needed to make it more (acceptable) to the community,” Napolitano said.
The project’s developer, Redstars Properties LLC, has been allowing the Chicago Fire Department to use the former funeral home for training before it is demolished, Napolitano said. https://nadignewspapers.com/panel-okays-restaurant-for-irving-woods-82-units-for-edison-park-but-delays-6-corners-plan-again/

A man reported that a teenager pointed a handgun at him at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Chicago Public Library Independence branch, 4024 N. Elston Ave., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 30-year-old man reported that he was sitting in the library when he began coughing so a teenager swore at him and told him to shut up, according to police. The man reported that he said, "sorry I had to cough" when the teen stood up and said, "what are you going to do about it?", police said.
The man reported that the teenager began punching him in the chest and torso so he pushed the teen off of him and ran down the stairs, according to police. The man reported that the teen said, “now you're going to run away" as he pointed a silver handgun at him so he hid and the teenager fled through a rear emergency door, police said.
The teenager was described as Black, age 15 to 17, 5-0 to 5-5 and 170 to 200 pounds, with an afro, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and blue sweatpants, according to police.https://nadignewspapers.com/web-ads/current-reporter.pdf
