Truman’s soccer teams squared off against Daley College at Montrose Field last week. Both teams came out on top with 1-0 victories: The men's record is 1-2-1, and the Lady Falcons are 1-2 to start the season.

CTA President Dorval R. Carter, Jr. is making moves:

This upcoming Tuesday(March 12) at 10:00 a.m., the CTA is hosting a pre-apprenticeship fair at Harry S Truman College.

Attendees will meet CTA staff, workforce partners, contractors, trade unions & pre-apprenticeship trainers to learn how to qualify for union and non-union opportunities on CTA contracts. Participants will also learn how to join the workforce on CTA projects.

The announcement comes after Carter's pledge this past past Wednesday (Feb 27) to restore reduced bus and train service to pre-pandemic levels this year, including a 44% boost to bus service by the end of the year.

Critics of Carter's proposal point to the agency's inability to retain workers and its lack of employees in general. While the CTA hired more than 1,000 new bus operators in 2023 – the most in its history – data obtained by WTTW shows a net drop in train operators last year. It's to be seen if initiatives like the fair March 12 will work.
