Tips as an MUA:
๐ค Ask your bride what she likes about the look and what she doesnโt like - this helps you make those minor changes and prepare for wedding day (here we decided we will opt out of the nude waterline)
๐ค Analyze skin type and texture so you can apply the correct skin prep ( everyone skin is not the same )
๐ค I provide toning/exfoliating 1st , sheet mask / under eye gel patches and then dive into my key skincare / prep items
๐ค Take notes during preview session and save them for wedding day (youโll move 10x faster) - I complete my brides in 40-50 min

Here are some key tips to ask as a bridal client and as a wedding makeup artist or hair stylist.

Timelines : be honest with yourself with how much time you need to complete a bridal party and / or bride. I always send my clients an estimated timeline upon initial inquiry so they can see how the day would flow

Time management: create a timeline with each person name in timeslot (my rule is: as long as someone is in the chair then we good) - as an artist: donโt walk in there without a list
โข
Network: have assisting artists that you can call upon to assist the party. This is key bc Iโve been in situations where the Bride has hired multiple artists that donโt know each other or have worked with each other in the work, not a line with the vision (RED FLAG)

Rates/budgeting: this will forever be all over the place but traveling to a client is a luxury and you know we have to close our books for that day to accommodate. Price yourself correctly. Create an experience for your client. Be SANITARY! Over communicate and have email etiquette! And as clients: COMMUNICATE because this a service youโre paying for, so i would ask any questions and take notes.

Schedule Bride 2nd to last: this is a tip i even tell my planner friends โ- this takes stress off of you to not have to rush and/or be drained by the time you wrap up the bride. Let the brides makeup settle and then you now have time for those changes if needed.
