2008 vs 2024. The kid in the first picture wanted nothing more than to turn his favorite hobby into his career. The guy in 2024 turned his favorite hobby into his career…and went back to find that kid again. Finding a way to turn your passion or hobby into your job is the greatest thing on earth, but it can be weird. The thing you used to “escape” with is now your “grind”. If you’re not careful, and even if you are, there can be times where it’s hard to find the joy in doing the thing you love. Especially when it becomes something you “have” to do. When that happens, I remind myself how freaking fortunate I am, how much work we put in, and how stoked that kid in 2008 would be about what we’re doing now. So here’s to finding that inner child and keeping him alive & well ✌️

There seems to be a fine line between what feels like garbage and gold. Sometimes when I’m mixing a song, there hits a point 85% of the way into the mix where I feel like I’m really starting to battle it. I’m hitting a wall, and nothing seems like it’s coming together. It starts to feel like I just drove 100 miles but in the wrong direction and I forgot my map at home. But right before those intrusive thoughts of “just start it over you hack, you lost. Time to throw your rig in the trash and make an onlyfans”, there’s always something that happens, usually one or two moves, that makes everything pull together. It feels like you’ve pulled your head up above the tall grass and you finally see the horizon for the first time. Everything becomes so clear, so vivid, and starts to sound so right. I don’t know if it’s just mostly perception, or if finally engaging that mix bus compressor I was tweaking in bypass the whole time had something to do with it, but making music is a wild ride for sure. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything. A good little life lesson for us all to just stick with it. We might be closer than we think 🌈

This summer, I’ve had the privilege to be mixing ’s new album. It’s a deep dive of sonic exploration and been super fun to get to know this band and their music more intimately. They are a truly exceptional band, and no one in the world sounds like them. Nick and I spent the day today putting the finishing touches on just about everything and it’s shaping up great. I’m even finally learning how to mix toms properly 🤠 Album drops Nov 17th

So incredibly proud of ! She’s been working her ass off the past couple of years achieving the damn near impossible feat of opening a tattoo shop in Charleston. Between finding the pin in the haystack for a building zoned properly, and all the other obstacles that came along the way, she kept her head down and stuck with it and she did it! She just passed the health inspection on the first try and now is officially opening October 1st! 🖤🎉🥳 GO 👏🏻 BA 👏🏻 BA 👏🏻

I rediscovered my childhood love for pop punk & emo music during the pandemic when and I first started dating and we’d be screaming Brand New or Taking Back Sunday at the top of our lungs 15 white claws deep and it felt like the world had stopped. I had been missing playing power chords on guitar and the songs I grew up with, so me and my buddies, and , who share my affection for the early/mid 2000s music of the warped tour, decided to have fun playing the hits of our youth and are calling it Jerkweed. Give the page a follow - We have our first video coming out tomorrow - everything done in-house DIY baby!

View from drum world 🌎 in the studio. I’m making my grand return filling in on drums with at this Friday night. The last time I played with them, we played on top of a prison bus 25 ft in the air while a bunch of Harley Davison’s did burnouts in the parking lot. Gonna make sure this one rocks just as hard 🤘

Weekend Update: Tonight I’m mixing out at for a beach front rock show. Tomorrow night, I’m playing a couple sets at with & friends doing chis originals and the debut of “Country Proper” - a set of good songs from Jason Isbell, Ruston Kelly, Chris Stapleton, etc. And Monday night, bringing it home with doing our REM tribute inside at the following . Then Tuesday, I’ll be celebrating my independence from doing anything productive for the day. 🕺🏻
