When kids learn to manage their emotions in childhood it leads to positive attitudes and behaviors later in life.

Here are some practical ways to help you facilitate this process👇🏾

💡Open Communication: Encourage open and non-judgmental communication. Let your child know that it’s okay to talk about their positive and negative feelings.

💡Label Emotions: Teach your child to recognize and label their emotions. Use simple words like “happy,” “sad,” “angry,” and “excited” to help them describe their feelings.

💡Model Emotional Expression: Children learn a lot from observing what we do—model healthy emotional expression by sharing your own feelings and talking with your children about how you manage them.

💡Ask Open-Ended Questions: Instead of asking yes or no questions, use open-ended questions like, “Can you tell me about your day?” This encourages your child to share more about their experiences and express their feelings.

💡Empathetic Listening: When your child talks about their feelings, listen attentively without interrupting or judging. Show empathy and validate their emotions, even if you don’t fully understand what they are saying.

💡Empower Them: Encourage your child to make choices and express their preferences. This helps them to develop a sense of agency and control over their emotions.

Creating a safe and supportive environment where all feelings are valued and respected is so important for helping children learn about and express their emotions. What are your thoughts on this?

What does non-physical compliment means?

Non-physical compliments are often referred to as character compliments or personality compliments. They focus on a person’s qualities, traits, or actions rather than their physical appearance.

That said, the Black community has always been at the forefront of social change, equity and justice for all.

Oftentimes, We are the first to:

✅️ Raise awareness
✅️ Organize
✅️ Educate
✅️Mobilize
✅️ Hold leaders accountable

Currently, there are state leaders, billionaires and special interest groups activity trying to erase Black History and for that matter, the Black community.

Anti-Black racism is not new to the Black community.

Despite all of this, we continue to create new pathways and movements to uproot Anti-Black racism, inequities and injustice.

What can you do? 👀

🎯 Activism over Symbolism:

✅️ Hold racist systems accountable
✅️ Demand an end to the Black wage gap
✅️ Demand Black History be taught in schools
✅️ Demand reparations for Black chattel enslavement

Though some try, the Black community will never be erase.

Neither will our History. ✊🏾✊🏾🙏🏽❤️

Happy Black History Month!

The Ron Brown Scholarship honors the legacy of Ronald H. Brown through a selective scholarship program that advances higher education for community-minded and intellectually gifted African Americans.

RBSP competitively awards 45 – 50 four-year $40,000 scholarships ($10,000 each year) to the most talented and economically-challenged high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship – the four pillars of the late Ronald H. Brown’s mission to uplift people of all races, cultures and ethnicities – especially our disadvantaged youth.

Recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or university of their choice within the United States. Ron Brown scholarships are not limited to any specific field or career objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline. Since the Program’s inception in 1996, 634 students have been designated as Ron Brown Scholars.

Applicants for the Ron Brown Scholarship MUST be Black/African American, US citizens or permanent residents, and a current high school senior at the time of their application.

Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for the Ron Brown Scholar Program provided you meet the following requirements:

It was early 2023 and he was thumbing through photo albums at his grandmother’s house. Suddenly, there it was: a snapshot from 1994, depicting him as a toddler, sitting next to his pilot dad.
