Legendary TV host JOHNNY CANALES, 77 years of age, is reported as "gravely ill" tonight. Long a platform for many of the current and past Tejano music legends, THE JOHNNY CANALES SHOW played a pivotal role in the careers of SELENA QUINTANILLA, EMILIO NAVAIRA, STEFANI MONTIEL, LA MAFIA, SHELLY LARES, BOBBY PULIDO, and many other beloved artists.

We ask for your prayers that JOHNNY CANALES will make a full recovery from his current health crisis.

The Jay Perez Band is proud to announce and would like to welcome Veteran musician Jay Alaniz formally with Jimmy Gonzalez Y Grupo Mazz. Alaniz will take on the role as The New! Musicial Director for The Band. Alaniz is a veteran Musician who has been in the Tejano Industry for more than 20yrs. He comes with Much Experience, We feel very confident that his position as the New MD, Will take this Band to New heights. Looking forward to starting our new adventure with him! We also want to give a big warm welcome to our new Drummer Justin Ramirez
He comes to us from Victoria Tx He is a United States Marine Corps veteran of eight years and served three tours in Iraq and has been playing professionally for over 20 years!
Lastly we welcome Jeremiah Martinez who comes to us all the way from Lubbock Tx ! He has also been playing music for over 20yrs. He has a huge heart and he is fully dedicated to this band! He’s eager to hit the road!
Roxy and I want to add that bands are much like corporations , sometimes you need to change things and re structure within the organization so that you can find people that are like-minded... People that have vision and humility so that they can be on board with the leader and take things to new levels as a group, as a whole, as a family! We believe that this is what we have now! A supportive group of musicians who are like minded and want to bring their best for the fans! No egos….. No attitudes!!!! Just willingness to unite and be one for the fans!!
