University Television Productions, is a media production unit of the Boise State’s University Television. UTP is also a series of courses that provides students with hands-on experience in video production and serves the Boise State University campus and community by recording and broadcasting a wide-range of educational, cultural and sports programs.

✨Senior Spotlight | Courtney Thompson✨
Courtney will be graduating with a BA in Integrated Media & Strategic Communications with a Certificate in Sports, Information, and Culture. It’s been a joy having her in UTP the past two semesters. She is looking forward to what the future holds after graduation!
“UTP has not only provided me with hands on experience and a creative platform, but with the best community on campus. This program is filled with people who have turned into family, and the memories I have created in UTP are invaluable.”
“My favorite UTP memory is hands down our class camping trip this semester. It was an incredible opportunity to spend intentional time with my favorite people.”
“Huge thank you to Nathan Snyder, my all time favorite professor and mentor. Special shoutout to my UTP fam: my little Gina, my big Georgia, and my gbig Jordynn. Thank you to all my UTP kittens for being my besties. And of course shoutout to my lovely family— couldn’t have done it without y’all.”

✨Senior Spotlight | Noah Alexander✨
Noah will be graduating with his BA in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications and a Certificate in Innovation and Design this week! We have been lucky to have him in UTP for five semesters.
“UTP has given me so many opportunities to get hands on experience in media production, and is probably the best ‘group project’ on campus.”
“My favorite UTP memory has to be our first trip to his cabin up in Placerville. We spent the day filming him going through and working on his property, then his mother in law made us an amazing homemade lunch.”
“After graduating I plan to continue my career as an AV tech for live events, hopefully making some connections to get some out of state work as well. I’m also gonna do a little traveling with my girlfriend to celebrate not having any homework for the first time in years.”
“Thank you so much for my girlfriend and family for always having my back and supporting me during my time in school! And shoutout to Nathan for putting up with me for the past two and half years and being a wealth of the most random knowledge someone could possess.”

✨Senior Spotlight | Sophia Taylor✨
Sophia has been an essential part of UTP over the past four semesters! She will be graduating with a BA in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications with a Certificate in Content Production. Sophia aims to pursue a career in digital marketing, live broadcast, or video production post grad.
“UTP has been a creative outlet, a push out of my comfort zone, a place to learn and grow as a person and as a media professional, and most importantly, a community that has allowed me to make friends and create cool stuff with a group of talented and creative people.”
“The entirety of the 2024 spring semester has been my favorite memory. Watching everyone come together and put passion into our projects has been really special.”
“Thank you to Nathan Snyder, Bryce, Brandon, all my UTP classmates, and Sebastian for all their support and giving me something to miss after graduation.”

✨Senior Spotlight | Sebastian Mendoza✨
We have been blessed to have Sebastian in the BTV studio for the past five semesters!! In less than two weeks, he will be graduating with his BFA in Film and Television Arts. After graduation, he plans to continue his career in media production as an editor.
“UTP has provided me with the freedom, support, and structure to flesh out my ideas and see them become part of a greater production.”
Sebastian’s favorite UTP memory has been “being the Johnny Hamburger talent/transportation liaison!”
“Shout out Sophia, Caleb, Dan, David, Preston, and Nay Nay! But NOT Johnny…”

✨Senior Spotlight | Nathan Cutler✨
It has been a joy having Nathan in UTP for six semesters! He aspires to work in sports production/related field after graduating with his BA in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications with an emphasis in Integrated Media, along with a certificate Sports, Information, and Culture.
When asked how UTP has benefitted his student experience, Nathan shared how he has loved growing a community of people who enjoy the same things as he does, while making lifelong friends along the way.
His favorite UTP memory is “Steam tunnel package my 117 semester, absolutely destroying my shoulder pulling up the manhole cover for 9 different takes.”
“Shoutout to my mom, dad, and brother, no idea what I would do without their support. Shoutout all of the UTP students past, present, and future for making these years of my life so memorable. Shoutout Snyder for being the best professor on campus.”
Thanks Nathan for all your hard work over the years, you certainly will be missed in the studio! Congratulations.

✨Senior Spotlight | Jordynn Puckett✨
From Hemet, California, Jordynn is a UTP legend! She has spent eight semesters in the program, and we are so lucky to have had her. This spring, she will be graduating with a BA in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications with an emphasis in TV Production, a certificate in Sports Information and Culture, and a certificate in Social Influence.
“UTP has contributed to my growth in the media realm and the profession industry more than any other class. Numbers of semesters later, I have been able to produce whole shows which is never an area I thought I was going to get into. It allows open expression for student and a safe space to be creative. I truly appreciate Nathan Snyder as a mentor, and thank him for the support he has given me through my years with him in UTP.”
“My favorite UTP memory has to be in 2023 when we did the Meta/Music episode. It was weeks of work,but having a class where you get to express yourself in music and media just was so much fun.”
“Shoutout to all the generations of UTP students who I’ve seen come and go the last 5 years, especially everyone who worked on Luv Shack and the Music Meta episode 🤍”

✨Senior Spotlight | Caresse Basaraba✨
We have been so lucky to have Caresse in UTP for the past three semesters! Caresse is from Elko, Nevada and transferred to BSU after playing softball for two years at TVCC. She will be graduating this spring with a BA in Integrated Media & Strategic Communications with an emphasis in Integrated Media. Additionally, she minored in Journalism and will be graduating with a certificate in Sports, Information, & Culture. Caresse has accepted a post grad position as a video operations intern with the Los Angeles Rams.
“UTP has provided me with hands-on, real world production experience. This has been the most rewarding and engaging program I have been a part of.”
“My favorite UTP memory was attempting to make a package last year with Kelby, but we couldn’t stop laughing.”

BREAKING NEWS😱😳 UTP Instructor, Nathaniel Snyder, was summoned to the Office of the Provost this afternoon. Snyder is currently under investigation for puppet misconduct on campus, and his eligibility to return to the BTV program is unclear.

Over the past two days, BTV has provided live stream & recording services for the Idaho State Board of Education meeting hosted at Boise State University. This has been an incredible, immersive experience for UTP students to get hands on experience in a fast-paced professional environment. Thank you to all of our incredible students and staff for your hard work, energy, and time bringing this project to life! We can’t wait for what’s next! 💙🧡🎥
