Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! It's a great time to remember how much God desires for us to have marital bliss. Did you know that our song, The Kisses of Love is filled with Scripture references? What is your favorite Bible verse about the romance between a husband and wife?
The Kisses of Love
By: Bill Fortenberry
Remember how you felt when we first embraced?
My knees began to shake, and my heartbeat raced. (SoS 2:5-6)
Your face lit up with smiles nothing could erase.
We started something new blessed by God’s great grace. (Gen 2:24)
Oh, what an ocean of wondrous bliss. (SoS 8:7)
Oh, what a mountain of radiance this. (SoS 2:8, 8:14)
A lifelong adventure in happiness. (Prov 5:18-19, Ecc 9:9)
Oh, cling to the magic of love’s first kiss. (SoS 1:2)
As we grew together and our lives entwined,
My life became yours, and yours became mine. (I Cor 7:4, SoS 2:16)
God filled our quiver with arrows fine. (Psa 127:3-5)
They were bundles of joy… well, most of the time.
Oh, what an ocean of wondrous bliss.
Oh, what a mountain of radiance this.
A lifelong adventure in happiness.
The magic grows deeper with every kiss.
The grandkids are perfect in every way.
They’re brilliant and pretty and always obey.
And still every moment and every day,
My heartbeat skips when I look your way. (SoS 4:1-9, 7:1-9)
Oh, what an ocean of wondrous bliss.
Oh, what a mountain of radiance this.
A lifelong adventure in happiness.
The magic lasts longer with every kiss.
And now as sounds fade and the lights grow dim, (Ecc 12:1-4)
Your limbs have grown feeble, and you’ve a quivering chin.
But the magic of love still burns within, (I Cor 7:9)
It’s a joy divine that will never end. (Prov 18:22)
Oh, what an ocean of wondrous bliss.
Oh, what a mountain of radiance this.
A lifelong adventure in happiness.
We’ll cling to the magic ‘til love’s last kiss.
