Cheese 101 (Benefiting the Sustainable Food Center)
Our "Cheese 101" classes are an intimate way to get to know the "7 Styles of Cheese." We guide you through each style of cheese and taste specific examples (both pasteurized and unpasteurized), accompanied by olives, nuts, and Easy Tiger bread. We'll also bring out a number of additional pairings like chutneys and charcuterie bites, depending on that evening's cheese selection. This class is our Charitable Cheese Cause Class of the Month. We're proud to partner with Sustainable Food Center and donate a portion of the sales from this event back to their organization. Note: Doors open at 6:15pm and the event starts at 6:30pm. You may choose to arrive early and separately purchase our wine or beer pairings from the Cheese Shop prior to the class the day of the event. As the tasting wraps up around 8:00pm, we'll give you and your guests time to mingle and enjoy the Cheese House, while we cut-to-order any cheese from the class that you'd like to purchase so you can re-create the tasting at home. Feeling inspired after today’s Comedy Brunch at . So why not f**k with this free class. “Due to popular demand, our free introductory class is now WEEKLY.
Maybe you’ve seen a few improv shows and thought, “I could do that.” (And you’re right!) And sure, it looks like it might be fun. But signing up for a class seems like a pretty big commitment. What if you hand the nice lady your check and then find out you really don’t like it? If only there were some way you could test-drive these ColdTowne Conservatory classes that all the kids are talking about.
Well, you can! At 7pm on the first and third Mondays of every month, ColdTowne fires up Improv 101, a FREE class that lets you see what all the hoorawing is about . . . without having to pay us a dime. Taught by members of the ColdTowne Conservatory faculty, Improv 101 is a pretty good sampler of what you’ll encounter in your first Level One class.
That means a warmup, some games, some discussion of the basic principles of improv, and — yes — some stage time! At ColdTowne we believe that best way to learn improv is to do improv, so we get you up and playing right from the start. Not only does this make for better improv . . . it’s more fun. And fun is the operating principle here, people.

This July, the culinary team at The Driskill's acclaimed 1886 Cafe & Bakery will join forces with Strange Land Brewery for the summer installment of our Craft Series beer pairing dinner. Join us for an evening of artfully crafted food, fine fellowship, and flavorful beer brewed right here, in Austin. Four courses, four beers for $40.
