Sometimes you find that one dog, that feels it is his job to be support for dying bugs. Every single bug. #protectfirst #lab #therapydog #gentlesoul #positivedogtrainer #k9love
We wanted to let everyone know safety tips for the eclipse today. Your dogs should be inside and keep your lights on so the abrupt change in light midday does not freak them out. Also, please don’t hold the sass against them, they may show anxiety or sassy behavior for 72 hours after this eclipse, for no other reason then the. Cortisol levels evening out after a strange occurrence.
Well, John’s exposure list is down to a very, very small group of things at this point. lol as much as we have a “written law” of things to get our puppies exposed to, can you think of anything that has freaked out your dog that I can bring to his challenge? #socializationandtraining #positivetrainingworks #noforcetraining #puppy #puppylove #protectfirst #k9workingmind #heartoftexaslabs
A glimpse into the eyes of a dog labeled “dog aggressive”. This young Shepard was brought to us labeled dog aggressive. We focused on teaching her it was ok to actually “look” at another dog. Unfortunately when working with reactive/aggressive dogs, some people create blow ups because they prevent the dog from even looking at what may spark them. I recommend allowing the dog to stop and realize what they perceive as a threat can be looked at without punishment. Hear the dog, in order to help them y’all. This beautiful girl went from vocalized blow ups when she saw a dog, to having friends! #stopdogabuse #protectfirst #positivetraining #germanshepherdsofinstagram #trainwithoutpain #positivedogtraining #dognaturaltraining

Back to our “What if we did to humans what we did to dogs?” Videos! How many people stare, stand over the dog, or touch them while they are eating? It’s kinda creepy y’all. We do not have to make dogs anxious in order to be sure they are ok with food around humans. Be less creepy, ask us how! What if we did to humans, what we do to dogs? This week we discuss punishments used in the canine world, so we decided it would be fun to see how a human would respond to one of the canine corrections....
Laura obviously did not approve :)
You can listen to more about types of corrections & punishments by listening to our latest podcast:

In this weeks podcast we address a serious topic that affects the well-being of our beloved pets - the use of cruel punishment tools during dog training.
**note- this video is only to state that if a dog is on a prong and launches/lunges at a cat, squirrel, another dog they would do so with this much power. This is not how hard you should correct a dog. **

It's that time again y'all! Episode 13 of our Podcast has been released, and our "What if we did to humans, what we do to dogs" video to couple it this week!
We discuss the ethical dilemmas and unintended consequences of relying on technology and gadgets rather than the fundamental bond between humans and dogs.
You can see if I use text instead of personally interacting with Laura, well, as she says, "That's stupid!"
Listen to us discuss this on our podcast here:

Forest loves an early morning hike and has learned to use his nose to find the path his mom is taking so he can follow it. #tdawg #differentlyablednotdisabled #deafandblind
Forest May be deaf and visually impaired, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love a good game of fetch. We just make sure there is a scent on the ball so he can find it! #tdawg #differentlyablednotdisabled
What if we we did to humans, what we do to dogs? This video is one of my favorite examples to use when it comes to dogs rushing up on other dogs. Not every dog is friendly, not every dog wants to say hello. Personally I do not allow dogs to rush up to my dog like they are long lost friends, why? Because I would never allow it done to me. Even if it is a friendly person or dog that is approaching- it’s rude y’all. Remember your dog is trapped on a leash. What would you do if a complete stranger rushed up to you crazy excited, expecting to hug you?
