LUCKY #7 !!! Today our boutique film & media production company celebrates 7 wonderful years of creating inspiring cinematic content.

It all started with an idea for a little short film that nobody thought a first-year film student could make. 53 awards and countless other projects later, we’re still here!

A huge THANK YOU to all the wonderful talent who has worked with us through the years, and to our patrons, sponsors, distribution partners, and clients for always believing in us. We can’t wait for our next chapter.

Latest info from Variety's Streaming Room @ Locarno Pro StepIn 2020: Everyone is waiting to see how TENET does internationally. They think it was an interesting re-strategizing and pivoting on WB's part and that everyone should be thinking in those terms. Best thing to look at as far as health and film right now, is how different territories slowly resume movie-going culture. Naturally, the territories with better COVID response will become the hot new places to sell your film to because those community-centered theaters all over the world will be resuming operations sooner (when they feel it's safe) and there will be a demand for Hollywood movies and non-Hollywood movies too. AMC here in the USA came out to say they will re-open at the end of August without waiting for TENET and that is sending the message to all distributors that the doors to the theaters will be open. They have the films and theaters hope the audiences will come without relying on tentpoles.

What are people programming? What's going to be bringing in audiences over in the late Fall in other countries and next year in the USA? They're saying there will be a point in time, maybe towards mid next year where we'll see certain trends; Relatively contained, few actors, can be shot in 1-2 locations, preferably soundstage....(COUGH COUGH 4TH NIGHT COUGH COUGH COMING SOON COUGH COUGH www.tapehaus.com/4th-night ). Once this wave of movies can get into production it will become a "look" of movies producible in this climate.

They also said that this all feels so speculative because we are still unfortunately very far from shooting an indie movie in the USA. The genre, size and scale of movies we'll see coming out will vary but it will be more of that “contained” look throughout the board. In a way, a reflection of the times they were made in.

The challenge at hand: how can distributors release these films and pivot to exhibiting them without a real theatrical component? Releasing too quickly is definitely a concern. But bottom line (and this comes from the mouth of NEON itself) is that AUDIENCES WILL WANT VARIETY and seeing how these international releases go is going to be key for defining the future of domestic distribution strategy.

They don't think the USA needs a Tenet to bring audiences back to theaters, meaning they won't rely on just the big tentpoles. Audiences will be drawn back through content that offers something new and innovative and that speaks to them..

We are so proud to share the news that our 4th Night director, Pedro Borges just took SECOND PLACE on an International Pitch Competition sponsored by Rubenstein Business Law during the Cannes Marche du Film Online.

We think that the winning project was well-deserved, compelling, right for the time, and will benefit greatly from the development service package that constitutes the first prize. But as the judges said, we are very far along in our development process. SO GET READY CAUSE 4TH NIGHT IS COMING SOON!

Congrats Bro! We could not be any prouder!

SPOILERS-(ish) on the article below. Careful. But it's an interesting take... What did y’all think of The Irishman?

Also... If you haven't seen "Hoffa" by Danny De Vito, I highy recommend you watch it before you see The Irishman. It gives you a better understanding and appreciation of the socio-economic world that Jimmy Hoffa built the Teamsters Union in. That in itself is it's own story and we sort of come in smack in the middle of it in The Irishman, so unless you know the history (which I personally didn't), you cannot fully appreciate the context.

Worth it for analysis, you film nerds!

Commentary: Martin Scorsese spent millions of Netflix's money on digital de-aging effects, and I don't buy it.
