Can you help me out?
I’ve been working on a Supernatural TV series based on magical realism.
After weighing my options, I’ve concluded that I will produce the pilot on my own. To do this, I’m considering launching a crowdfunding campaign. But, before I put in the time and effort, I could use your help. By reading my concept and answering a few questions, you will help me decide if I should move forward.
Please share this so I can reach as many people as possible. I want to gather as much information so I will make a sensible decision.

LOGLINE
In the aftermath of a mass shooting, a drug addict, a street hustler, and a nurse join forces to battle an ancient evil that wants to enslave humanity.
SYNOPSIS
A demon-possessed gunman opens fire in a movie theater. This sets off a chain of supernatural events that could lead to the world’s end. In the shooting’s wake, an addict, a street hustler, and a nurse venture on a path of redemption for themselves and humanity. To prevent evil forces from destroying all that is good. Our heroes must grapple with latent psychic abilities, overcome personal challenges, and embrace their destinies. On their journey, they will explore new realms and magical concepts that will expand their consciousness.
TONE
Conscious is Stephen King meets the Wire. A harsh, grimy, realistic world with a touch of magic, demons, and mystery. We explore the crossroads where the ordinary meets the extraordinary.
It’s an hour-long serial based in modern-day Atlanta. Structured like a film, there will be a beginning, middle, and end. Our characters will have complete arcs, with no loose ends after the finale.
Because of the limited nature of the project, it will allow us to target film actors for the leads. For example, Ryan Gosling for Alan, Elizabeth Olsen for Olivia, and Michael B. Jordan for Dominique.
The story will be self-contained, filmed in a classic cinematic style. The framing will be bold. Cinematography raw, gritty, and grounded in reality.
The magic, subtle, based on spiritual laws and physics. We’ll incorporate creative techniques to represent the seven psychic senses. For example, a song, smell, or mental image will act as clues sent by the spirit world to aid our heroes in solving mysteries.
We will explore different worlds. Each world will have its own unique color palette, which will convey harmony or tension in the scene.
THEMES
Conscious is a character-driven story. It examines ordinary people as they navigate obstacles in their daily lives.
We’ll use fantasy as a metaphor for real-life to tackle relevant issues we face in America today. Such as Mass Shooting, the Opioid epidemic, and economic disparity.
Other themes Conscious will explore are grief, addiction, and sin. We’ll also examine the power of healing, forgiveness, and acceptance.
