What's IMAG???
IMAG is a technique that uses one or more cameras, computers, projectors and screens, or flat panels and LED walls to enlarge an image of a speaker at a live show in order to give the audience a better view. IMAG helps us make sure there isn’t a bad seat in the house and everyone has a clear view of the action. Somewhat small, but very different event last week. This event, for Energy3, was produced purely "off the grid". I powered the whole event on "municipal solid waste", or in other words, home trash you would find in a landfill. We took 10 tons of trash, plus 10 tons of chicken waste, put it into a gasification system which uses high temps and low oxygen levels to change the molecular structure of the waste and produce a synthetic gas, or Syngas. We captured and cleaned the gas and fed it into a natural gas generator which produced electricity to my power distribution which powered the event. No power for this event, including the equipment for the gasification process or building power, from local utilities... First event of it's type!
