Profitable business!

If the businessman isn’t planning on trading when markets are open, then how can he hope to ever make money?

If the Muslim who’s witnessing the last ten nights of Ramadhan isn’t racing to Allah in desperation, then when will he ever race?

When will he ever reform his life?
When will he ever change?

Angel Jibreel said to Prophet Muhammad [ﷺ]

"يا محمد! من أدرك رمضان فلم يغفر له فأبعده الله"

“O Mohammad! Whoever experiences the month of Ramadhan but still doesn’t have his sins forgiven, then may Allah distance him!”

What’s worrying is the response of Prophet Muhammad [ﷺ] to this. He said: Ameen.
That's right.

It's a Du'aah made by the greatest of all angels and by the greatest of all prophets against those who reject the opportunity of Ramadhan.

So, what’s the plan?

'Aishah [رضي الله عنها] narrated: "With the start of the last ten days of Ramadhan, the Messenger of Allah [ﷺ] used to tighten his waist belt [i.e. keep away from his wives] and used to stay up praying all night, and he would also wake his wives [to pray and recite Qur’an etc..]

'If lailatul qadr was one night in the year. I would stand in prayer at night for the entire year so that I obtain it. So what about one (night) in (just) ten nights?'

Ibn Rajab رحمه الله said: And the whole month(Ramadān), is a month of Allah's mercy, forgiveness and salvation from hell.

Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) is:

• 𝑮𝒉𝒂̄𝒇𝒊𝒓 - who immediately forgives.
• 𝑮𝒉𝒂𝒇𝒇𝒂̄𝒓 - who abundantly forgives.
• 𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐟𝐮̄𝐫 - who constantly forgives.

Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun, tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni
O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me
“اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعفُ عني‏"

What’s the difference between Maghfirah (مغفرة ) and 'Afuw (عفو )?
⠀
▪ Maghfriah: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin but the sin will still be registered on your book of deeds. Maghfirah is Allah’s forgiveness for your sin but on the Judgment Day it will be written on your record, Allah will ask you about it but HE won’t punish you because of it⠀
⠀
▪ Afuw: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin and delete it from your book of deeds as if it did not happen. ‘Afuw is Allah’s pardon for your sin, it will be completely erased from your record and Allah won’t ask you about it on Judgement day⠀
This is why our Prophet صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said that, this is the best Duaa to make on Laylatul Qadr:⠀

▪ Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annee"⠀
(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi)⠀
⠀
▪ O Allah, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and You love to pardon, so pardon me."⠀

Make sure you read this dua all the time and as much as you can. Make it one of your daily athkaar.

10 Tips for the Last 10 Nights of Ramadan

Ibn al-Jawzi said:

“When the race horse knows that it is nearing the end of the track it exerts all of its effort to win the race. Do not allow the race horse to be more clever than you. For verily, deeds are judged by their conclusions. So if you didn't do well with welcoming Ramadan then perhaps you will do better bidding it farewell.”

1. These ten nights of Ramadan are the greatest ten nights of the entire year, and one of these nights is greater than 1000 months. Every deed you do is multiplied immensely. Take advantage and don’t waste any time, even if it means forcing yourself through phases of laziness and procrastination; you’ll have no regrets working hard in these nights, but you will have regrets if you waste them. If you didn’t do well in your first 20 days of Ramadan, you can make up for it by finishing strong. Aisha (ra) reported that the Prophet ﷺ would strive hard in worship during the last ten nights of Ramadan more than any other time. [Sahih Muslim]

2. Memorize the du’aa that you should make throughout these ten nights while seeking the Night of Decree, as was taught by the Prophet ﷺ:
Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’affu ‘anni (O Allah, You are forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me).
اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعفوا عني

3. The exact date of Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree) is not known with yaqeen (certainty) and it could fall on *any* of these night tens. Do you really want to risk losing out on the reward of 1000+ months of worship? Would you risk losing out on 1 billion dollars – or much less – in a similar situation?

"Whoever stands in prayer on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Bukhari]

This is the night in which the Decree is shown to the Angels as well, and it reflects one’s provisions, blessings, trials, punishments, life, and death, so strive hard to be of the people who are worshiping Allah on this night
