在民國79年一群熱愛建築學術的教授及建築師為提升台灣建築研究水準，而在中華民國建築學會支持下成立了建築學報。建築學報的宗旨“在於提升國內建築學術研究水準，建立公開徵稿及嚴謹審查的學術著作刊物，藉以提供國內外建築及其相關領域在學術研究上具有公信力的發表及交流之園地”。在89年榮獲科技部權威期刊指標TSSCI收錄，已成為臺灣公認一流的期刊。
