Important Information re temp Bus replacement for Airport train.

From today, June 9, changed operating hours and replacement bus transport will appear on the route to Krakow's Balice airport.
The new timetable will come into force after midnight from Saturday to Sunday (June 8/9).

Due to the inspection of the traction network during four June nights - 9/10, 10/11, 15/16 and 16/17 June, late evening and early morning trains on the line of the SKA1 Kraków Airport - Kraków Główny - Wieliczka Market Square will be closed. replacement bus transport introduced.

DRAGON ALERT!!

TONIGHT - Saturday, the spectacular Great Dragons Parade takes place on the river below Wawel castle. A spectacle of fireworks, lights, lasers and music as huge inflatable dragons move up and down the river.

On Sunday there is a dragon's street parade.

On Saturday & Sunday there is a dragon's family picnic between the castle and the river.

Get there early, it gets busy.

A different take on a Wag'ner opera.

I hear their 'Bach' is worse than their bite.

Move over, Tail'or Swift.

They should for a pop group and call it 'The Beagles'

I understand this was inspired by the superb Genesis album 'A Trick of the Tail'

One of the doggies stole the Trom'Bone and buried it in the garden.

They plan to release a concept album. 'The bark side of the moon'

The Dalmation was really good, he hit all the right spots.

One of the dogs had fleas, he made a perfect DJ, he was great at scratching.

One of the dogs came on stage eating a dictionary, he was made to drop it, then started singing, Meatloaf's 'You took the words right out of my mouth'

These dogs are really clever, but can't let themselves out of the house on their own - they can't find the right key !!

They auditioned for a doggy singer to accompany the orchestra but his voice was too 'Husky'

They had a Basset Hound Bassist

Their performance of the 'St.Bernards Waltz' pleased the dancers in the crowd.

One of the doggy's moonlight as an Elvis impersonator, he aint nothing but a Hound dog.

The slobbery cuddly comedic St Bernard, 'Beethoven' is set to join the orchestra...

UAinKrakow.pl (information portal, targeting the Ukrainian community in Kraków) has organised a mayoral debate about migration, in cooperation with Kraków Expats Directory and Slovak medium Život v Poľsku. The discussion will focus on foreigners in Kraków.

The debate with presidential candidates has been organised, to provide an opportunity to hear their policies for the city, and for foreigners in Kraków.

You will also have the chance to join the debate, asking questions of them or raising issues with the candidates.

On Sunday, (14.01.24) for the 10th year, fans of Cracovia Ice Hockey club, threw hundreds of teddy bears and soft toys onto the ice for charity.

During the game against Oświęcim, the fans waited until the 23rd minute when Cracovia scored to throw the toys onto the ice. 1,870 toys were collected and will be given to Kraków Children’s Hospital and children’s homes in the city.

Putting Krakow's infamous football rivalries aside, I highly recommend going to watch a game at the ice rink next to Hala Targowa, it's a lively, fast paced, frantic experience.

( I personally have no favourite, which for some is likely as bad as having the wrong favourite ;-) )

Police Sirens at 5pm today.

You may see Police cars stopping and sounding their sirens, it's to show respect for the two officers colleague who were shot in Wroclaw last Friday. Both died this week in hospital.

Kraków Christmas Market starts this weekend.
Christmas decorations, mulled wine, a wide selection of (often expensive) food, accompanying Chistmasy events and performances, all make for festive fun.

The market was recently ranked the best Christmas market in Europe, though I'm sure many would disagree. Indeed even many Krakowians reacted with surprise at the announcement!
