Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), announced in a press conference that the selectors will unveil Pakistan's squad for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand next Tuesday. Naqvi informed the media that the selectors will disclose the team lineup for the New Zealand series on April 9th.
It is speculated that the selectors may opt for an 18-member squad for the series to provide ample opportunities for players to showcase their skills ahead of the T20 World Cup. Players like Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim are likely to feature prominently to regain match fitness for international cricket. However, injuries have sidelined some players such as Haris Rauf and Fakhar Zaman.
Certain players have already secured their spots in the team, including Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Additionally, Usman Khan is expected to fill the fourth position in the lineup.
The selectors are also considering including players like Agha Salman and Sahibzada Farhan. The final squad may feature either Abrar Ahmed or Usama Mir.
New Zealand is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on April 14th for a five-match T20 series commencing on April 18th in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
Excitement among fans is palpable as they eagerly await the announcement of Pakistan's squad for the series.
