Insiders suggest Babar Azam’s exclusion is due to his prolonged slump in form, with the batter failing to score a half-century in his last 18 Test innings. Similarly, Sarfaraz Ahmed, who had been released earlier, will not feature in the 16-member squad for the upcoming Test. Fuel prices in Pakistan are set to rise in the upcoming fortnightly review, with the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) expected to increase by more than Rs10 per litre due to a surge in global petroleum prices.

According to insiders, petrol prices may increase by Rs3-4 per litre, while HSD (high-speed diesel) is projected to see a significant hike. The rising demand for petroleum products, especially HSD, has taken the market by surprise, with average daily sales spiking to 24,000 litres, up from the usual 16,000-17,000 litres.

Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif has etched his name in history by becoming the youngest climber in the country to successfully summit all 14 peaks exceeding 8,000 meters. The 22-year-old achieved this remarkable milestone today by reaching the summit of Shishapangma, which stands at 8,027 meters.

Known as the “Broad Boy,” Kashif reached the summit early this morning, solidifying his place in the annals of mountaineering. He is only the second Pakistani to accomplish this feat, following Sarbaz Khan, who recently became the first Pakistani to scale all 14 eight-thousanders after summiting Shishapangma.

Kashif’s journey to conquer the eight-thousanders began in 2019 when, at just 17 years old, he successfully scaled Broad Peak, which rises to 8,047 meters. This initial achievement launched him into international prominence.

Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group, claimed responsibility for targeting an Israeli military intelligence base near Tel Aviv, according to AFP.

The group stated that it launched a “salvo of rockets” at the Glilot military intelligence unit 8200 base, located on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.
