FILMMAKERS:
Jeff D. Balsamo is a 3rd year BS Computer Engineering student at MSU-IIT, originally from Pagadian City. He is an emerging filmmaker based in Iligan City, working with Dalumat Films Production—a notable film group consisting of non-film students that has earned several national achievements.
Arnold Capute is a storytelling filmmaker from Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur. He is currently pursuing a degree in multimedia arts at Cebu Institute of Technology University, a program covering various fields in media and traditional art. Starting with only a refurbished camera, Arnold's innovative ideas led him to create short films featuring friends and family, quickly earning recognition for his storytelling talent.
Despite initial challenges and limited resources, Arnold's determination and unique perspective shone through. He actively participates in wedding, debut, birthday, and other filmmaking events to expand his videography skills. This talented young filmmaker has participated in prestigious film festivals, including the 24hr Binisaya Film Festival (2023), where his film "Kargo" achieved 1st runner-up at the UNCHR Film Festival, and the Cebu Institute of Technology Film Festival, where his film "Kwerdas" received the Core Film Choice Award. He also showcased his work at the 48hr Binisaya Film Festival (2023).
Trishtan Perez is a q***r filmmaker from Brgy. Balangasan, Pagadian City. He graduated from the University of the Philippines Film Institute, having completed his elementary education at Ballesteros Sr. Elementary School and secondary education at Zamboanga del Sur National High School. His short film "I Get So Sad Sometimes (2021)," shot in Pagadian City, won Best Film at the QCinema International Film Festival and has been featured in various international and q***r film festivals. Recognized by CNN Philippines as one of the “Eight emerging Filipino directors to look out for,” Trishtan has also participated in the Interfilm Script Pitch (Germany), Objectifs Short Film Incubator (Singapore), Full Circle Lab, Ricky Lee Scriptwriting Workshop, and Mindanao Film Lab. He currently works as a Creative Associate at Star Cinema.
Venz Bolotaolo Hawani is a 4th year BFA Cinema student at the University of San Carlos. Born and raised in Pagadian City, he completed his basic education at Pagadian City Pilot School and Saint Columban College High School. He initially pursued studies in Information Technology abroad but returned to the Philippines to follow his passion for filmmaking. His film "Balod sa Kinabuhi" has been recognized by various film festivals, including the Binisaya Film Festival, Mindanao Film Festival, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines. He has also actively participated in and completed different film challenges such as the 24-hour Cinemathon and Fiesta Kucha 48-hour Film Festival.
