Kasama sa mga dinakip at dinala sa Lapu-Lapu City Police Station 5 ay si Howell Villacrusis, dating Councilor ng UP Manila (UPM) College of Arts and Sciences Student Council (CASSC) ng mga panurang taon 2014-2015 at kasalukuyang Secretary General ng Alyansa sa mga Mamumuo (AMA) - Sugbo. Kasama rin sa mga inaresto ay sina Kei Galon, Chairperson ng Anakbayan Cebu, Deviemar Opo ng Anakbayan Lapu-Lapu, at sina Marjhun Amoroto at Belt Sasar ng Nagkahiusang Kabus sa Lapu-lapu (NAKALAP). Ang mga residente ay hindi nabigyan ng notice bago maganap ang nasabing demolisyon.
Ayon sa ulat ng Tug-ani, nagsagawa ng isang protesta ang mga residente kasama ang Casia Matab-ang Residence Association (CAMARA) at NAKALAP kaninang umaga kung saan inaresto ng kapulisan ang mga nagpropotesta. Nagsimula kahapon ang inisyal na demolisyon ng 39 na mga kabahayan kung saan inaresto ang dalawa sa mga residente na sina Crisanto Gabutan at Julito Pedelion. Labing-tatlong kabahayan ang dinemolisya ngayong araw, habang ang natitirang 26 naman ay naka-iskedyul bukas.

Sa Pedro Gil strike center, ipinahayag ni Luisito Ilagan ang importansiya ng pagwewelga ng mga drayber ngayon. “Ang mga pagkilos na ito ay isang demokratikong paraan ng pagpapahayag… [ng] mga sentimento at damdamin namin bilang mamamayan na naapektuhan,” sabi niya.
