“Gusto kong ipadama lagi sa bayan ng Manuyo na mayroon kayong bar and restaurant dito na pwede niyong ipagmalaki,” said Nelson Reyes, owner of Padrinos Bar & Restaurant in Brgy. Manuyo Uno.

From its humble beginnings as a small karaoke bar to its current status as a beloved neighborhood establishment, Padrinos not only celebrates sports and entertainment but also gives back to the community that supports it.

The unique name "Padrinos" was inspired by his small circle. Derived from the term "compadres," which denotes friendship and companionship, Padrinos perfectly encapsulates the warm and inclusive atmosphere that Nelson envisioned for his establishment.

“Magkukumapre kami lahat kaya Padrinos naisip namin. Mga bata pa kami noon, pero nandoon na yung kagustuhan naming maging businessmen someday,” he mentioned.

Nelson's deep-rooted passion for basketball, shaped the "House of Champions" theme greeting customers as they enter. Having formed connections with professional players in different local leagues, he wanted to bring the excitement of a sports bar experience closer to the community.

“Noong araw ang magagandang bar lang talaga nasa Malate or sa Makati, kaso siyempre kailangan may pera ka rin. Bibihira sa bayan yung ganon,” he recalled.

By establishing Padrinos in Las Piñas City, he aimed to offer locals an opportunity to cheer for their favorite teams and feel like champions in their own right. The House of Champions theme extends beyond sports, symbolizing the potential for success and triumph in all aspects of life.

Padrinos owes its success to its loyal patrons. In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, Nelson actively gives back to the community through feeding programs catered by Padrinos and small neighborhood basketball leagues. Collaborating with his friends in the basketball leagues, he also organizes basketball clinics, further nurturing the local talent.

Today, Padrinos serves not only as a symbol of Nelson’s entrepreneurial journey but also as a symbol of community spirit and unity. From its humble origins to its commitment to giving back, Padrinos embodies the values of camaraderie, celebration, and the belief that everyone can be a champion.
