Embracing Colors: A Celebration of Beauty and Bravery

by: Melody Villanueva

LPU Laguna Dangal joined the "Dare to Dream in Color" Pride month celebration event in National University Laguna.

Alongside various councils and organizations within and outside NU Laguna, a month of preparation culminated in a successful and vibrant event.

"Kahit ano ka pa, kaya mong maging kung ano man ang gusto mo." This is only one of the inspiring statements left by Julian Kahlil Dizon, NU Laguna Sexuality and Gender Alliance President and also the head of the event.

To show their support, some of the students shared their talents. Raven Menorca and Aphrille Harina danced while Mira Ocampo sang Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin by Kitchie Nadal and Thadeus Guttierez, together with Nehru Lacson sang Walang Kapalit by Rey Valera.

Lyceans certainly slayed at the event. Hannah Shin Jang bagged the "Darling of the Crowd" award for being a Mama Mary look alike and Matthew Manalo was awarded the "Slay Mhiema Award" for being the best dressed.

Holding their colorful balloons and their dreams, everyone participated in the iconic Pride March—a march of beauty and bravery.
