445 Club: Sunrise Challenge at Mt Maunganui
Every Friday at 4:45 AM, a dedicated crew meets at the Mt Maunganui Surf Club to start the day with movement, motivation, and camaraderie. The 445 Club, launched in Auckland by Lucy (now based in Australia), has expanded across New Zealand, Australia, and beyond.
For the last four months, around 50-60 people—walkers, joggers, runners—have braved the pre-dawn chill at the Mount, forming a supportive community that celebrates effort over pace. As summer approaches, organizers are eager to see new faces join for sunrise runs and post-run dips in the ocean. It’s not just about exercise; it’s about connection, conversation, and starting the day together with purpose.
If you’re up for an early challenge and a coffee with friends, join the 445 Club.
