We have hit 100% !!! Thank you to everyone who donated and believed in the project. All the kind words and support have meant so much.
But we aren't finished yet! We still need a bit more to take this film from good to GREAT! There are extra days needed in the studio to rework some dialogue, festival fees, and extra little costs that all add up. So we've added a stretch goal of $16,000. Every little bit helps! TRAILER DROPPING 5PM!

"I went to the audition because I wanted to try something new, grow out of my comfort zone and have the experience and joy! During the film I got exactly that and loved every little bit of it! This film means a lot to me because it’s a symbol of life for young pasifikian and Maori people, it hits home." - Nekolas Thompson on his acting debut as Kingi.

"The quality of the opportunities we have play an important part in the level of success we
obtain in our lives. I have seen this in my own life where I had opportunities that those around me didn't have and as a result I could achieve what those around me could not.

It has been seen that when a Māori/Pacific Islander makes a choice that would have a positive impact on their life and society, influences such as negative stereotypes can unnecessarily turn these potentially life-changing opportunities into uphill battles. I want our audience to see and be urged to talk about this as they follow 16 year old Sefa who sets to decide and discover his place in life through the opportunities he is given and the choices he takes. I also want this film to showcase the incredible Pacific Island/Māori talent in Christchurch, by giving local creatives a platform to contribute to the expression of these relatable themes." - Director, Shea Kokaua.

A stunning debut performance from Gideon Tanielu-Smith sparked a passion that has propelled him to New Zealand's foremost national drama school, Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School in Wellington. From the outset Gideon threw himself into the role and soaked up as much as possible from seasoned performers Shea and Sela, to bring the character of Sefa to life.

TOMORROW marks the beginning of a new journey for our short film ‘Anywhere but Nowhere’ - the boosted campaign begins!

Over the past two years we’ve found gaps in busy schedules to come together for a common goal, to put together a film that we are immensely proud of.

This film is a message that has never been more relevant. We understand times are difficult - so any support to this project will help massively to get the message out and to keep the momentum for future stories to come.

Only two days to go! Our boosted campaign launches this Thursday!

If the youth are the leaders of tomorrow,
then you are the leaders of today,
prepare a way for them to rise,
so tomorrow can be a better day.

The short film Anywhere but Nowhere serves as a vehicle to illustrate the effects of both positive and negative influences within our society and asks the question: What is our influence on the society we live in?

Three days to go… Until our boosted campaign launch!

Made by a passionate crew from Otautahi Chch. ‘Anywhere but Nowhere’ is a short film about some of the opportunities and choices that face young Māori and Pacific Island people in New Zealand

It’s a message inspired by the streets of eastern Christchurch, where positive opportunities are scarce and many youth find themselves heading down the wrong path.

This film serves as a vehicle to illustrate the effects of both positive and negative influences within our society and asks the question: What is our influence on the society we live in?

Four days and counting!

Only four days to go until the boosted campaign for our short film Anywhere but Nowhere goes live!

Directed by Shea Kokaua, the film follows the journey of young Sefa, a Samoan teen with the world at his feet. Life seems easy until he is drawn in two different directions, and has a very difficult choice to make.

This film serves as a vehicle to illustrate the effects of both positive and negative influences within our society and asks the question: What is our influence on the society we live in?

The film is a message that has never been more relevant. We understand times are difficult - so any support to this project will help massively to get the message out and to keep the momentum for future stories to come.
