We’re thrilled to announce the release of TÎMMY the FIRST’s latest single, “DEGREE”! ✨

Known for his expressive and dynamic sound, TÎMMY the First delivers a captivating narrative of personal growth and boundless energy in this track.

Premiering yesterday on Pōneke’s local station .fm -this track explores themes of introspection, ambition, and transformation.

“This song is an internal dialogue which comes to the conclusion that ‘I’m about to turn up the heat,’ as I reflect on the past and ponder the present and future,” he explains.

The creation of “DEGREES” was a collaborative effort with Frank Eliesa, who crafted the slamming beat, and John Garcia, who mixed the single.

The initial demo was crafted in TÎMMY’s home, but the final version was perfected in the studio, bringing his vision to life.

To visually represent the vibrant energy of “DEGREES,” TÎMMY has created a dynamic visualiser, drawing from live performance footage shot at Auckland’s Neck of the Woods.

The visuals, captured by the awesome crew at and edited by TîMMY himself.

Get ready to ‘turn up the heat’ with “DEGREE”!✨

Today, Aotearoa pop star releases ‘The Bright Side,’ a follow up to his electrifying single ‘Crash.’ Through his fearlessness and agency as a songwriter, Parker has become a magician at harnessing the power of pop to embrace the full spectrum of emotion.

“’The Bright Side’ is the moment of reflection after the crash,” reflects Parker. “We’ve survived the impact but are left alone to really question what the hell just happened. ‘The Bright Side’ is not just the afterglow of a relationship ending, it’s also the memories of being happily in love. Lots of unanswered questions to a banging beat.”

‘The Bright Side’ is produced by , a collaboration which Parker describes as “amazing, as always. Maude and I are a pop music factory at this point. We both know the assignment and have great chemistry. I’m loving creating pop music with a heart, sometimes broken but always beating with hope. She makes music with such consideration and purpose. I’m honestly obsessed with us as a duo.” The track is also accompanied by another dazzling lyric video by

To celebrate this release, Parker is putting on a show with friend and indie-pop artist .noon at on Saturday, June 15th. Anyone who has seen Parker live knows he is not one to miss, and it’ll be a gig you’re guaranteed to leave feeling better than when you came. Tickets are available from .

No stranger to the stage, he is the founder and curator of Little Gay In, a gig series showcasing the best of Aotearoa’s q***r talent quickly becoming a staple of the music scene.

‘The Bright Side’ is the third single off his upcoming EP Fairy Bread, a project which he describes as “a story of hope. It’s camp, it’s delicious and it documents a really important moment in my life, falling in love for the first time. I’ve grown a lot since I first started writing her and I’m proud as punch. I can’t wait for everyone to listen in order from start to finish.”

‘The Bright Side’ releases today, Friday, June 7th, via Aotearoa New Zealand independent label Bigpop Records.

This is brand new, and a must-read for studio heads. Chris van de Geer first came to prominence as the guitarist for Second Child and Stellar*.

After a few experiments on a friend’s four-track, Second Child booked Progressive Studios where Van de Geer found the studio environment enticing. Van de Geer took a course at SAE, then found himself behind the desk at The Lab, working with some of the best artists of the time.

Around 2005 he co-founded Bigpop studios with Joost Langeveld, and they're now a fully-fledged label and publishing company, working with some very exciting contemporary artists such as CHAII and Jujulipps.

Gareth Shute tracks Van de Geer's career to date, and there are a lot of neat recording technology details here to enjoy :)

Today Aotearoa popstar Jason Parker marks his seismic return to music with the release of his electrifying single ‘Crash,’ a track that entrances while it devastates, glistens while it shatters.

Through his fearlessness and agency as a songwriter, Parker has become a magician at harnessing the power of pop to embrace darkness while simultaneously offering a cathartic release.

“A crash is sudden and so was the breakup that inspired this song. Sharp and unexpected,” says Parker on the inspiration of the track. “I think the line that sums up the themes of ‘Crash’ best is “I feel like a dead man walking.” A reminder that no matter how shocked you’re feeling, life just keeps going.”

Produced by Maude Minnie Morris, ‘Crash’ showcases both artists’ ability to stir the souls of listeners while weaving dramatic pop tapestries that stay with the audience long after the song ends. “Working with Maude has been an incredibly fulfilling experience,” says Parker. “I feel like we were destined to meet and make this record together.”

Adding to the allure of ‘Crash’ is the stunning music video shot in the alleyways of Osaka, Japan with Daisy Thor-Poet of Tinted Productions. “It was a full day of running around the streets of Osaka singing in alleyways and train stations. I literally started the day dying my hair in a hostel bath room and ended it at the biggest sushi train I’d ever seen. The whole day was really a popstar fantasy moment.”

This is not the first time Parker and Thor-Poet have worked together, winning Best Music Video at the New Zealand Youth Film Awards for Parker’s track ‘This Is My Year.’

‘Crash’ marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Parker as the first track off his upcoming EP, Fairy Bread. “The idea of Fairy Bread really is about taking something and making it better. Coming from darkness to light.”

‘Crash’ releases today, April 12th via Aotearoa New Zealand independent label Bigpop Records.

Rodney Fisher requires no introduction. With a legendary discography from his time with Goodshirt through to his numerous solo projects, Fisher is hell-bent on leaving no creative stone unturned. Today, he is delighted to announce the release of his much anticipated album created with The Response, Art School Dropout, alongside the final single and stunning music video ‘Take It Slow.’

“This music is more intimate and personal than one might expect,” explains Fisher on his ever-evolving relationship with music. “I’ve been making music for as long as I can remember, but now by not being a frontman I can lose myself in the music and listen in a completely new way.”

‘Take It Slow’ perfectly illustrates this new era for Fisher. It envelops you in piano that’s quiet but sure, and a vocal line from Fisher that’s intimate and vulnerable, like he’s sharing a secret just to you. Finally, cue The Response’s electropop adornments which perfectly compliment the tone and message of the track.

Having quietly enjoyed The Response’s unique alternative style over past years, Rodney finally met the duo after hearing their cover of Goodshirt’s ‘Fiji Baby’. “We got talking, and I made plans to send them a track to get their take on a remix version.”

And here we are, with a beautiful body of work which The Response aptly describe as an atmosphere of introspection and nostalgia.

This more introspective album is unlike any of his previous works, and Fisher’s optimism is apparent. “I’m over the moon,” he says.
“I’m so grateful to have a lovely team of people helping to make my dreams a reality.”

Art School Dropout, alongside ‘Take It Slow’ releases today on streaming platforms and vinyl!

Today, Aotearoa electropop icons Strawpeople return with a brand new album, Knucklebones.

Knucklebones is a collection of all-new material produced by Paul Casserly and Fiona McDonald and while the guts of the project is the work of the pair, there’s a cast of Aotearoa music’s heavy-hitters. Matthias Jordan of Pluto is on keys, Nick Atkinson of Supergroove on sax, drumming legend Chris O’Connor on drums, Mark Hughes on bass and even a cameo appearance from legendary Auckland busker Luke Hurley on guitar. Guitarist Chris van de Geer and bassist Joost Langeveld are also back as players and producers.

Strawpeople originally formed in the late 1980s when Paul Casserly and Mark Tierney met at student radio station 95bFM. Also there at the time was Fiona McDonald who went on to become part of the Strawpeople history.

At the heart of Knucklebones is that familiar Strawpeople combo of sampled beats, bass, guitar, keys and more than anything, the voice of Fiona McDonald.

Knucklebones releases today with a limited vinyl run available from all good record stores!

Ethel Street (out now, link in bio). A solo piano soundtrack composed for Autumn Winter 2020 presentation at New Zealand Fashion Week in August 2019.

I wanted to create a beautiful piece to reflect Juliette’s collection imbued with movement, simplicity, depth & light. A piece filled with a sense of journey.

The cover art for this track is one of Juliette’s beautiful textiles for this collection. Inspired from the felt experience of New Zealand’a wild, unique and beautiful natural world.

The title ‘Ethel Street’ represents the place where design, collaboration and presentation collided.
