On December 18, 1999, Antonio Cassano scored his first goal in Serie A against Inter, giving Bari an astonishing victory for 2-1.
At that time, Cassano was 17 years old and had debuted in Serie A in the previous matchday. He was an unknown teenager from Bari when, that night, coach Fascetti decided to put him in from the start. Bari immediately scored with Enyinnaya then Vieri equalized. Then, two minutes before the end of the game, like a clap of thunder out of a clear sky, Cassano invented THE GOAL: heel control and a header, a clear dribble eluding two inter defenders, and a final cold shot in the net on the right of Ferron.
#Onthisday, the world met Antonio Cassano, also called Fantantonio.

On November 18, 2009 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis takes place the return of the playoff for access to the 2010 World Cup: France-Ireland. The Blues are clearly favorites, thanks to the 1-0 victory in the first leg in Ireland. Surprisingly, however, Robbie Keane scores for Ireland in the 32nd minute. The result of 1-0 for the Irish will remain so until the triple whistle and extra time. At 12' of the first extra time, Malouda on a free kick is about to send the ball out: Henry manages to avoid the goal kick by literally putting his hand on it, continues the action and delivers in the center of the area for Gallas who equalizes. The referee trio does not see and incredibly the goal is validated. France goes to the World Cup and Irish anger is unleashed and the scandal leads FIFA to intervene: France will retain its place among the 32 finalists, but will be drawn in the last pot.
😢 I'm sure Giampiero and Diego are chatting and laughing together now...

On October 16, 2010, Massimiliano Allegri's Milan played, and won 3-1, against Chievo coached by Stefano Pioli.
Pioli, the current Rossoneri coach, could do little that day against that Milan with players like Abbiati; Zambrotta, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Boateng, Ronaldinho, Pato, Robinho, and Ibrahimovic, Inzaghi, Cassano and more.
In the first half, Zlatan Ibrahimovic delivered 2 winning assists for Alexandre Pato. In the second half, Pioli's Chievo reopened the match thanks to Ibrahimovic’s unlucky own goal. At the end of the match, Robinho scored his first goal for Rossoneri. The assist was provided by fellow countryman Ronaldinho.
At the end of the season, that Milan would win the scudetto.
