Oculus, Samsung, Google, Sony, Valve, and everyone else who makes virtual reality devices have a problem: VR isn't selling.

From a gamer's perspective, it's pretty obvious why. Devices like Oculus Rift and Playstation VR are innovative, shiny, new, and probably the way of the future or whatever, but as a gamer, I really only care about one thing: playing good games.

And even though it feels kind of nifty to wear VR headset at first, the novelty wears off fast, and you're ultimately stuck with a messy system of wires and chargers and other accessories that just aren't worth the effort of setting up. Plus, there seems to be, among most VR games, an emphasis on novelty of platform over quality of gameplay.

Oculus gave more details about its its next-generation VR headset today at the Oculus Connect 4 developer conference. It also said the headset would become available "in the next year."

The catch: The headset is still a prototype, and it will only be made available to developers.
The new headset, codenamed Santa Cruz, is the company's first prototype headset with "inside-out tracking" technology, meaning it doesn't require external cameras or other accessories to track your position in the room. What's even more exciting is that the headset will also be able to track two newly designed wireless controllers with six degrees of freedom.

Tech-savvy Dubai police have unveiled a hoverbike capable of flying five metres (16 feet) above the ground.

The high-tech crime-fighting vehicle was shown off to onlookers at a recent tech convention, alongside a prototype robotic car.
When piloted, the hoverbike can fly for up to 25 minutes, hit speeds of up to 70 kph (43mph) and carry up to 300kg (47 stone) of weight.
Without a police officer aboard, it can hit six meters (16 feet) in height. The vehicle was co-developed with Russian drone manufacturer Hoversurf.

A teen is receiving praise on the internet after returning a wallet he found with $1,500 cash inside.

Melissa Vang posted a short clip to Facebook on Friday showing a young man waving a wallet at the security camera pointed at her front porch. After a few moments, the teen leaves the wallet on the home's welcome mat, and slowly takes off.
