The bush-clearing stage of the Brass Island Shipyard project in Bayelsa State has been completed. It was handled by an indigenous firm, Stan Specialist Construction Company Ltd.

The facility, when operational, would cater for the maintenance and repair of cargo ships, oil tankers and LNG carriers.

It will also generate revenue and foreign exchange for the government, provide numerous jobs for the teeming youths and boost the local economy.

The construction of the shipyard is being sponsored by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in partnership with Nigeria LNG Limited.
