THE SUPER TALENTED AND FIRST EVER KNOWN CROSS-DRESSER IN NIGERIA FROM IMO STATE;

Uzoma Odimara popularly known as "Area Scatter" was one of the most charming and enigmatic musicians to ever exist in modern Nigerian history.
He was an indigen of Ovurugo Mgbuiishi, OhajiI, Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Imo State

He was a Male civil servant from Imo State, in the 20th century and was said to have resigned and went into isolation after the Nigerian Civil war, only to re-emerge 7 months and 7 days later, as a beautifully adorned woman. He claimed that during this period, the gods endowed him with supernatural powers which he used to enhance his musical talent and become more feminine

Area Scatter roamed the street of 1970s Eastern Nigeria, playing melodic music with his ornamental thumb piano, singing in a rich, smooth voice and moving his body in an unusual yet fascinating manner.

Luckily, He rose to fame in the for his unconventional and daring approach to entertainment. He was known for his flamboyant style as he would braid his hair, wear makeup, and fabrics while walking around in heels, and playing music in the homes of the upper class.

Suprisenly ,he was widely accepted at the time, in the deeply wounded country which was still fresh out of a deadly civil war. .

Area Scatter performed as a cross-dresser, actor, comedian, and performer for both royalties and other individuals.
He sold himself so amply that he was invited to perform for various royals all over the East, ranging from Abia to far Enugu until he landed a gig on arguably the most popular TV show at the time, Ukonu's Club.

the 20th century show, Ukonu's Club. Elders declared that nothing on modern TV could ever compare, even likening TV of the 21st century to various forms of garbage. Ukonu's club has been labelled the best of its time and included a cast of some of the most notable African legends such as the late Christy Essein and Mazi Ukonu himself. One name that always stood out however, was that of Area Scatter
He was known for the thumb piano, beautiful voice, and charismatic presence.

He was also the leader of a musical group named ",ugwu Anya egbulam" with an AREA SCATTER EP and songs like Nwannem uwam egbulam , uwa amaraala okaa oke nwachukwu and other melodious songs.

He was also feature in a popular segment on Nigerian music "kokombe" one of the series of then popular documentary "beats of the heart" and some of musical band members are allegedly still alive in Mgbuiishi.

He was by all means, the first and one of the few Nigerian transvestites to appear in mainstream media

News has it that Area Scatter unfortunately died in an Auto crash along porthacourt road Owerri many years ago, The accident allegedly happened a few meters from his matrimonial home Umuagwo Ohaji and his remains was conveyed to his home town Oburugo, both in Ohaji /Egbema L.G.A., where he was buried with , and the burial ceremony being covered and showcased in NTA Channel 6 Aba at the time.

He was the first ever known Nigerian cross-dresser .
