The much anticipated opening ceremony for the 2020 physicians week is today, tuesday 20th October, 2020 by 9:00am at Elkanemi Hall.

As you are aware, the 2020 physicians week will officially kick off across the country next week.

It is a week that provides a unique opportunity for Doctors in both private and public sectors to showcase the beauty of medicine vis-a-vis public enlightenment of thematic issues and touching the lives of the downtrodden.

This year's physicians week is action packed and the theme and sub themes are deliberately chosen.

The theme: *STATEGIES FOR HEALTH SYSTEM RECOVERY DURING COVID 19 PANDEMIC IN NIGERIA* will give us an insight on how to navigate the negative impact of the plague on our strained health system. An expert with an intimidating credentials in administration will do justice to this topic.

The sub themes: *Implementing the residency training in state teaching hospital: a chart for the improvement of healthcare services in Borno state* and *Psycho social impacts of the COVID 19 PANDEMIC in Nigeria: strategies for prevention and mitigation* will help in guiding the policy direction of the state government in providing quality, affordable and accessible health care to the teeming population of Borno and mitigate the negative effective of the scourge on the mental health of the populace respectively.

The publicity committee shall keep us posted on the activities lined up for each day of week.

Members are kindly advised to take ownership of the week and showcase the beauty of medicine.
