Discipline is the Key

To achieve your set goal in life, you must be disciplined. Disciplined enough to keep moving when things don’t go your way.

Things not going your way at the onset is a must, the path to success isn’t a frictionless path, it has on it obstacles that will try to deter you from the path.

But with a disciplined mind, you are able to remain on course.

And as you journey, a transformation occurs with you, a new man is born. With new skills and new abilities.

But you only get this if you are disciplined enough to withstand the obstacles.

Hi, I’m Uthman Aliyu, and a short while ago it was extremely hard for me to finish reading a single book in one month.

Because I would easily get bored and then drop the book out of frustration.

And because of this frustration, I couldn’t read consistently.

But, everything changed when I discovered a new and powerful method of reading.

Do you struggle with writing copy that bring in enormous cash for your business?

But human nature is consistent, it never changes, so if you understand the psychology that prompts the decision making of your prospects, you can easily influence them to buy what you’ve got to sell.

Does this mean you never need to learn some techniques and tactics?

No, far from it.

You still need to know some techniques and tactics for getting attention, arousing desire, establishing belief and so on, but depending solely on them without understanding the principles behind them is VERY DANGEROUS!

Because they are prone to becoming ineffective any time.

But with principles you get to do your own thinking and develop new techniques to apply the principles.

Merely mastering techniques and tactics without understanding the principles is like building a house without any foundation.

You know what happens? The house eventually crumbles.

So there is no better safety net than understanding enduring principles that never change.

So even when tactics and techniques change you can always develop new ones to sell to your prospects.

I’d link to illustrate my point with an example.

It’s a common knowledge that a headline is one of the most important element in a copy.

And there are a lot of formulas and techniques you can use in crafting headlines.

But one fact that most people do not understand is that there are certain principles behind these formulas and techniques.

And because they have no clue about the principles, when a lot of people start using the same technique as them, their headlines loses effectiveness, and they stop making sales. Then they become saddened because they don’t know what else to do.

But as a master of principles you will never find yourself in this spot because you can always develop new techniques.

For example:

The “How-to formula”

I’m sure you are familiar with this formula.

But do you know why it works?

Well, it’s simply because it promises a BENEFIT.

Now, that’s a principle right there: Promising a Benefit.

People are attracted to what promises to reward them with a benefit so that is why how-to headlines are very effective.

Because at first sight, people know they are going to gain some benefits by reading the copy.

Now, since you know the underlying principle that makes the “How-to” formula work then you can write a headline that does the same thing but have different wordings, and still get the same result or even better result because now, you’re being unique so you’ll definitely stand out.

Here’s an example:

Commonly used technique:

“How to become a 7-figure Earner”

New technique:

“Imagine YOU,... a 7-figure earner”

As you can see they are both promising a benefit but they have completely different wordings.

Which one will attract people the most? You ask.

Well, you have to test.

And that’s another principle is direct response marketing. Nothing can be guaranteed to be a winner unti a test has proven it.

So you must always test.

But my heart inclines towards the new technique because it has elements of novelty. Not something you see everyday. So it catches your attention.

And as psychologists have stated; when we see things that we have been seeing for quite too often we become less attracted to them…

But when we see new things we are attracted to them because we believe they have a potential for benefit.

So this principle alone makes the second headline powerful.

And don’t forget the word “YOU”, that’s a powerful element as well.

Or “Imagine”, which creates a mental picture for our prospects.

So this headline appears to be more powerful than the first.

But like I said, always test.

You see, when you know principles like the one I’ve just shared with you, it becomes way easier and less stressful to write cash-generating copy.

Melancholy: Memories Never Die

A very long time ago, I witnessed a very horrible and awful scene.

I saw as a mob almost killed a man.

Several men took turns hitting him hard in the face.

He was kicked repeatedly in the belly.

Someone even hit his head with a plank.

And they continued to beat him until he was completely stripped naked.

And what did he do?

He stole a motorcycle.

Why did he steal?

Well, he must have been living a horrible life in poverty, and probably thought he could sell it for some quick cash, I guess.

He may have probably endured the pain of hunger for so long but then hunger took its toll and human nature kicked in.

For when we are pushed against the wall we do unimaginable things.

As the soul doesn’t get what it needs, it compels you to do its evil bidding.

Maybe the man didn’t have a job or a business to earn a living so he was forced to do what he did, because he believed he didn’t have have any other choice.

But is there a guarantee that a normal person like you who has a business can never fall into this kind of situation too.

I wouldn’t be so sure.

I’m afraid many factors can lead one to this sort of ugly and brutal situation.

And one of those factors is making sales becomes extremely difficult.

Because what happens when there is no sales?

No money.

What happens when there is no cash flow?

No money to buy food, pay the rent, buy clothings and all other things that keeps the heart joyful and the mind sane.

What happens when you don’t get these necessities?

Hunger and pain set in.

Sadness and anguish become your companions.

What happens when this occur?

The soul begins to break down, and once this happens life becomes unbearable for you.

You begin to get irritated easily.

Being with your friends no longer interest you because you imagine they aren’t trying to help you get out of your bad situation.

You begin to fight your spouse, you get angry unnecessarily at your kids and everyone around you gets a taste of your venom, even though you never meant for that to happen.

Then, it gets hard to carry on.

And the devil sees this as an opportunity to creep in and begin his plot to take you into the darkness.

He begins to whisper:

“This is getting too much for you to bear”

“This hunger and poverty might kill you or create enmity between you and your loved ones”

“Go out and steal something from that store!”

But you fight and back say to him; “No, I’ll never do that”

“Be wise! Others are doing worse than this”, he replies.

Then you go out...

Saying to yourself;

“I’m only going out for a walk.”

Then the devil whispers again...

“Just take a look at the store, look at varieties of food over there and no one is even there to see at the moment. Hurry up and go take something.”

“I’ll go there and wait for her and get what I need on credit, I’m never going to steal”, you protested.

“You are already owing her so much, she will never let you buy anything else on credit ever again, “ the devil remarks.

“That’s right”, you remember.

But it’s too late to turn back now, you are already in front of the store.

Sadness feels you heart, you are so remorseful, but the pain and hunger is just too much to bear.

And now in front of you are: loaves of bread, one of which can completely remove the hunger.

“Take it, no one is watching, ”, the devil whispers to you.

“But don’t be greedy, take only one,” he now preaches.

“You’ll never do it again, don’t starve to death”, he acts like he truly cares.

And then his whispers began to sound like a wise counsel from a caring friend and taking the bread became fair seeming to you.

Then...

You took it!

In haste, you turned around, trying to flee back home.

But unfortunately...

The owner of the store had been quietly observing you from a corner since you arrived at the store and she saw you as you picked the bread.

You knew she is going to shout so you started begging and crying but she didn’t listen to you, then she shouts:

“Thieeeeefffff!!!!

As if people had been waiting for her to shout, in a blink of an eye, you see a crowd flock around you.

“It’s just bread”, you said pitifully. “I was very hungry that’s why I took it, please let me go and I’ll never do it again”, you pleaded.

But no one seem to be listening, it’s as if everyone is in a trance and they are all thirsty for YOUR blood and the only thing that can quench their thirst is to see you bleed 🩸

The concept of permission marketing is simply getting permission from your target audience before you start to engage them.

Not only will this prevent your messages from being ignored, it will also make your target audience more receptive to your message. A Golden Secret Of Selling

The way to gain the interest of your prospect for your sales message is to simple join the conversation already going on in his mind.

People walk around all day thinking about their problems, and searching for ways to solve them.

So when your message appears on their radar and it has no relevance to what they are going through, they dismiss it instantly.

But if from the first line, you immediately say something that is quite relevant to solving their challenges, then you will get them to stop whatever they are doing and pay close attention to your message.

For example, your propsects is a mother who has just given birth, don’t you think the following would make her really interested in listening to our message?

“To all new mothers, here is a proven way to make your newborn baby a striking genius before he or she even becomes a teenager.”

Now, which mother wouldn’t want that?

Or let’s take business people for example.

Wouldn’t the following make them salivate?

“An easy way to double your profits even in a recession.”

So it all boils down to understanding your prospects, knowing what they desire the most at different stages of their lives.

For example a mother who is filing for divorce may not be as interested in a message about how to make her child a genius, like she would be interested in a message that’s going to help her become financially stable after the divorce.

This is a very essential concept to understand.

Because when you do and you are able to match your message with your prospect’s particular situation, she would see that you truly understand her. And she would naturally have the inclination of buying from you.

That’s one of the golden secrets of selling.

Our prospects are humans, so the more we treat them that way, the more we will gain their trust and get their money.

Two Lessons:

Habit and Discipline

See, nothing of good comes about expect by way of hardship and pain.

If you hope to get out of that uncomfortable place that you still need to do really uncomfortable things.

So you need to develop the habit of doing the work, and the discipline of doing it even when you don’t feel like it.

That could be posting content everyday, researching your market, or working on product development.

Success, in reality, is the result of little habits that compound.

The idea of getting rich quick is deception or

Do yourself a favor, develop the mentality of being in the game for the long haul.

For if you play for the short term gains, you will give up in no time because the reward will never ever compensate for your trouble.

But if you play for the long term, the rewards will amaze you.

To make the game easier and more fun, keep learning.

Because as you Improve your mind, you improve your sight.

And when your sight is improved, your patience for the approaching reward is stronger.

Hence, you are able to withstand the pain and hardship.
