*Kwara donates patrol vehicles, bulletproof vests to security agencies*

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Thursday presented 20 new patrol vehicles and dozens of bulletproof vests to security agencies in the state, a gesture meant to strengthen rapid response, curb crimes and make the state safer.

This comes a few months after his administration donated many vehicles to the agencies as part of its multi-layered strategies to secure the state and attract investments.

The vehicles comprise 10 salon cars exclusively donated to the police and another 10 Toyota Hilux which are meant for rapid response arm of the multiagency Operation Harmony.

"We are donating vehicles to the security agencies to fortify their work. We did that last year and later this year we will be adding more vehicles,” he said.

"It is a continuous exercise. The federal government is doing a lot and this is our own little way to support what the central government is doing. We use this opportunity to thank the security agencies for what they are doing for us to sleep at night while they do what they need to do.

“This situation in Kwara is much more better than most states and we want them to keep that. So, we need to support them to make sure they keep the peace in Kwara.”

The Governor said Kwara has become increasingly peaceful while people are finding safe haven, adding: “We do appreciate what all our security agencies are doing. This is another block in the building of strong security architecture in the state.”

Secretary to the State Government Prof Mamman Saba Jibril, for his part, said the government acquired the patrol vehicles for rapid response to security issues in the state.

"We are here to hand over the patrol vehicles to security agencies in the state. We know there are security problems in different parts of the world but we thank God in Kwara State that we enjoy relative peace but we are not overconfident. All we are doing is to maintain peace in the state.

*Kwara Gov seeks support for IDPs, commends FG*

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman has enlisted the support of relevant agencies, corporate bodies and well-to-do individuals in alleviating the sufferings of internally displaced persons (IDPs), saying IDPs in the country are in need of basic necessities of life.

"They need to be assisted from all corners - government, individuals and corporate organisations. The IDPs are highly in need of basic necessities of life. They have been forced out of their houses and doing nothing where they are. So, they have to be sustained," AbdulRazaq said this on Monday in Ilorin while receiving relief materials donated to the state by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government Prof Mamman Saba Jibril, the Governor expressed concern over the issue of internally displaced persons in Nigeria.

"The state government is doing its best to this category of people who found themselves in the state. Your coming is to boost our support to the IDPs," he said.

He assured NIMASA that the relief materials would get to the intended beneficiaries to alleviate their sufferings.

The Governor added: "Let me assure you that the materials will go down to those that are meant to benefit from the materials. They will not be diverted to another place. That will not happen here.

"Our collaboration with your agency (NIMASA) has started on a very clear note and I hope that the collaboration will go on stronger. We welcome other organisations willing to offer support in promoting the welfare of the internally displaced persons across the country," AbdulRazaq added.

Deputy Coordinator Abuja Zonal Office of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Hajia Moji Jimoh, for her part, explained that the donation was part of the agency's corporate social responsibilities to assist the internally displaced persons located in Kwara State.

EIDUL FITR: DAY4: KWARA SSG RECEIVED DUMAGI PROGRESSIVE YOUTH ASSOCIATION.

The Secretary to the government Kwara state, Prof. Mamma Saba Jibril today received in audience Delegates of the Dumagi Progressive Youth Association at his residence. The visit is to felicitate with him on the Eidul Fitr occasion.

After exchanging pleasantries, the delegates appreciated and commends the administration of Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for bringing dividends of good governance to the grassroots. Dumagi community is feeling the positive impacts of this regime in Health, potable water, electricity among several others.

The community also called on the government to deliver more and to move the community to the desired level of of development.

PROF. M.S. JIBRIL ATTENDS INTERACTIVE SESSION IN LAFIAGI.

The Secretary to Kwara state Government, prof. Mamman Saba Jibril graced an interactive session held in Lafiagi, the Edu local government headquarter.

The session appreciates the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led administration in Kwara state and commends Gov. Abdulrahman in aspects of security, job creation, infrastructural development, sustainable food security and inclusive governance among several others.

The interactive session also, appeals to the government to assist them in providing adequate potable water, and to ensure general development of the region.

The meeting also had in attendance Hon. Aliyu Labasa, the TIC chairman of Edu local government and many other stakeholders.

Conclusively, the session passed a vote of confidence on Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and pledged their undiluted support and loyalty to Gov. A.A.'s noble course at all times.
