Security and military personnel are reportedly still securing the mini-palace in the Nasarawa area of Kano State, where the deposed 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, is occupying, despite a court order for his eviction.

According to Channels TV, stern-looking armed soldiers and policemen were seen around the mini-palace.

PUNCH had earlier reported that a Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Amina Aliyu ordered the police to evict the deposed Emir from the palace.

The court, which gave the order on Monday, also issued an interim injunction restraining Bayero and four other dethroned emirs from parading themselves as emirs, pending the hearing and determination of a motion on notice filed by applicants.

The state Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam, also said that Bayero’s presence in Kano posed a threat to the peace and stability cherished by its people.

President Bola Tinubu received former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, shortly after returning from a four-day working visit to Lagos.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking government officials, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, Information and National Orientation Minister ,Mohammed Idris, and Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman.

Portable copied my acting, not music style – Terry G

Legendary Nigerian singer Oche Gabriel Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has revealed that singer Portable copied his acting technique

Terry G said this in a recent episode of the Honest Bunch podcast.

He stated that, although Portable did not mimic his musical style, he did imitate his approach to acting.

His words: “Portable picked the acting part of me. He didn’t pick the musical part of me. Music is about the instruments. Is it only about your voice? He didn’t create time to learn any instrument.”

PHOTOS: Lawyer Requests Coroner's Inquest Into Mohbad's Death

A human rights lawyer, Festus Ogun, has requested a Coroner's Inquest to investigate and determine the cause of the death of Nigerian singer, Mohbad.

This was contained in a letter to the Attorney-General of Lagos, posted on the lawyer's page on Monday.

The letter partly read, "In line with Sections 14 and 15 of the Coroner's Systems Law of Lagos State, we hereby request for a Coroner's Inquest to investigate and determine the cause and circumstances of Mohbad's death.

"Importantly, we humbly request that you exercise the power under Section 17 of the Coroner's System Law to order exhumation of his body for the Chief Medical Examiner to anatomically determine the cause of his death.

"Upon conclusion of the Coroner's inquest, we are hopeful that the findings of the investigation will be made public and those found wanting would be sanctioned by the appropriate authorities."

Mohbad died on Tuesday, September 12 at age 27.

PHOTOS: Niger Boat Crash Death Toll Rises To 30

The number of Nigerians who died in Sunday's boat crash in Niger State has risen from 26 to 30.

The spokesman for the Niger State Emergency Management Agency NSEMA, Hussaine Ibrahim, who made this known Monday night in a brief WhatsApp post to PUNCH, said it comprised of three male children and 27 women.

Hussain also disclosed that four communities were affected including Gbajibo, Yankyade, Biagi, and Ekwa all in Mokwa LGA.

He spoke with PUNCH on the telephone and disclosed that most of the rescued victims were still in a state of shock and were unable to speak when they arrived in the communities Monday.

According to him, a larger percentage of the passengers who boarded the boat were women on their way to the farm.

Earlier, a boat carrying over 100 passengers on Sunday in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State capsized killing 30 passengers. 30 others were rescued.

Hussaine did not confirm if more of the passengers were rescued on Monday.

A Ugandan businessman, Habib Nsikonnene, wedded seven wives on Sunday, September 10, in Uganda.

This was revealed in photos shared by Capital FM Uganda on X, formerly Twitter.

The names of the wives are Mariam, Madinah, Aisha, Zainabu, Fatuma, Rashida, and Musanyusa, who is said to his first wife and has been with him for seven years.

Two of the seven wives are also said to be biological sisters.

It was also reported that Nsikonnene bought brand new cars as presents for each of them, with each of them having their cars labelled with their own names.

In his speech at the reception, he commended his wives for being loyal to him, saying, "My wives harbour no jealousy amongst themselves. I introduced them separately and decided to wed them all at once to make one big happy family. I am still a young man and in the near future, God willing, I cannot say this is the end of it.”

Actress Moyo Lawal has finally reacted to the now-viral video of her which was leaked online on Saturday.

The video which shows the actress engaging in a sexual act with a person, now revealed to be her ex-fiance, has since got many talking online with the majority claiming that the 'A Time To Heal' actress leaked the tape herself.

Taking to her Instagram page on Sunday, Lawal first confirmed she was the person in the tape before debunking rumours that she authorised the distribution of the said tape.

"A private video of mine from a while ago has been inappropriately shared without my consent, violating my privacy and trust," her statement began.

"I want to emphasise that this video was done with my ex whom I was to marry at that time, was never intended for public consumption and its unauthorised distribution is a breach of my boundaries. However this criminal breach of privacy will be treated with legal action," the statement read.
