The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has once again expressed satisfaction on the emergence of Chukwuma Soludo as the governor of Anambra state. They are aware of his vast experiences and contributions to the national economic discourse, and the impacts of his strides in solving issues of economic development and other ancilliary challenges in Nigeria.

ATTENTION TO ALL OUR PRESIDENTIAL AND GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANTS IN 2023

In case you don't know the root cause of our problems today, please take time out and read below:

As of 29/03/2022, the exchange rates were:

£1 = ₦783
$1 = ₦560
€1 = ₦670

42 years ago, precisely on 01/03/1980 the exchange rate was:
$1 = 0.78k

Are you surprised?

Well, we were far more productive in 1980 than we are today.

In 1980 the key reasons for economic growth were as follows:

1. We were a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Today we import all our refined petroleum products.

2. We rode in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos.

3. Leyland produced trucks/buses in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu also produced buses and trucks.

4. Steyr in Bauchi produced our Agricultural tractors. And it was not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components:

5. Vono products in Lagos produced the vehicle seats.

6. Exide in Ibadan produced the batteries, not just for Nigeria but for the entire West Africa.

7. IsoGlass and TSG in Ibadan produced the windshields.

8. Ferrodo in Ibadan produced the brake pads and discs

9. Dunlop produced Tyres in Lagos and Mitchelin Tyres were produced in Port Harcourt. And I mean tyres produced from rubber plantations located in Ogun, Bendel and Rivers State.

10. We were listening to Radio and watching television sets assembled in Ibadan by Sanyo.

11. We were using refrigerators, freezers and Airconditioners produced by Thermocool and Debo.

12. We were putting on clothes produced from the UNTL Textile Mills in Kaduna and Chellarams in Lagos. They were Not from imported cotton but from cotton grown in Nigeria.

13. Our water was running through pipes produced by Kwalipipe in Kano and Duraplast in Lagos .

14. Our toilets were fitted with WC produced in Kano and Abeokuta.

15 We were cooking with LPG gas stored inside gas cylinders produced at the NGC factory in Ibadan.

16. Our electricity was flowing through cables produced by the Nigerian Wire and Cable, Ibadan; NOCACO in Kaduna and Kablemetal in Lagos and Port Harcourt.

17. We had Bata and Lennards Stores producing the shoes we were putting on. The shoes were not from imported leather but from locally tanned leather in Kaduna.

18. We were mainly flying our Airways, (the Nigeria Airways), to most places in the world. The Nigeria Airways was about the biggest in Africa at the time.

19. Most of the foods we ate were grown or produced in Nigeria.

We were producing all of the above and many more in 1980.

Today, we import almost everything. Isn't that alarming?

There lies the source of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing today and everyone reading this has a critical role to play in reversing this very UGLY trend.

We have been talking about these problems and more for ages.

It is not enough for us to complain about the exchange rate or point out what others are not doing or are failing to do. The key questions are:

1. What are we producing now?
2. What role are our so- called Leaders/ Politicians of today playing?

We are forever shying away from responsibility whereas it is a stack reality and if we don't deal with it, it won't go away. In fact it will get worse.

2023: Nigeria on the match again; To our dear Politicians, if you don't have the capacity to RESET Nigeria to what it was at least back in 1980 then please stay in your house and don't waste our time. This is what we need from you.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!

Copied.

*RE: 20 MILLION DOLLARS ANAMBRA STATE INVESTMENT IN SABMILLER GROUP*

The above news trending online in some social media handles, alleging that Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo announced today; 29-04-2022, that the 20 million dollars which former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi invested on behalf of Anambra State in Sabmiller Group is now worth 100 million dollars.

The writer further claimed that from today; 29-04-2022, Anambra State now owns the highest share in the global company.

This is to notify the Public that the statement allegedly credited to Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is completely false. The Governor never made or issued any statement to that effect.

It is untrue and should be completely disregarded.

*_TIME TO TAKE BACK OUR LAND FROM CRIMINAL ELEMENTS AS ANAMBRA YOUTHS RAID KIDNAPPER'S HIDEOUT, BURN SHRINE_*

_By Christian ABURIME_

_The continous seige by criminal elements masquerading as agitators who the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned and disassociated itself from, can no longer be allowed to continue in it mindless atrocities against Ndi Anambra_

_Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Anambra State Governor has repeatedly said over and again that these criminal elements must put an end to these heinous atrocities_.

_He has gone further to offer amnesty to these groups to renounce their deadly atrocities with a promise to rehabilitate them as well as assist them to get engaged in a more meaningful new life. He also assured that those who refused to embrace this olive branch will henceforth be treated as criminals_

_On the basis of these and more so, that IPOB has also condemned the activities of these criminals, Ndi Anambra youths and indeed everyone in Anambra are all in agreement with Governor Soludo on the need to take back our beloved homeland from these hoodlums and criminal elements, killing and maiming our people_

_Reports are now emerging of how the youths of Ichi, in the Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, have destroyed a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in the community._

*IPOB denies involvement in South-East killings, chides bandits*

Again, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied involvement in killings going on in South East urging Nigerian youths to rise against bandits as a matter of urgency.

It also condemned what it described as “senseless and incessant attacks” in the South-East geopolitical zone, reiterating it had no hands in the ugly incidents.

IPOB’s Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, stated this in a statement on Thursday, a copy of which was made available to The PUNCH.

The statement read, “We, the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra ably led by our leader, Nnamdi Kanu, strongly condemn the senseless and incessant attacks, abductions, killings and all manner of ‘criminalities’ in the South-Eastern states especially the recent barbarities in Anambra and other states in the regions of South-East and South-South.

Again, we want to inform the world that IPOB and the Eastern Security Network members had no hands in the attacks contrary to baseless allegations by our enemies. We are not involved in the criminal activities of agents of darkness in our land.

“IPOB members are civilised people and are never involved in the barbarities going on in our territory. Anybody linking IPOB or ESN with these devilish activities is a blackmailer.

“IPOB is not unknown gunmen, and we cannot be. We are only after our mandate to protect our communities, bushes, and farms against the jihadists masquerading as Fulani herdsmen who are killing, maiming and ra**ng our mothers, wives and sisters going to farms. IPOB will not tolerate such nonsense anymore.

“It is now clear to all that the bandits are out to eliminate every single individual or group in Southern Kaduna. Yet the governor is still looking for excuses instead of going after terrorists and bandits killing his subjects.

“We, therefore, urge Middle Belt, particularly the people of Southern Kaduna, Jos, and people of Nasarawa and youths who allowed their parents and children to be slaughtered like chicken, to rise and unite against bandits and Fulani herdsmen.”
