OCHA Brigade Parade, Charge 20 Suspects To Court For Touting, Illegal Revenue Collection

Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade has Paraded and charged over 20 suspects to court for touting and illegal revenue collection in Awka and Onitsha environs.

The suspects, aged between 20 and 45, were paraded at the agency's headquarters in Awka where some confessed to have been involved in different touting activities.

Speaking, one of the suspects, Mr. Lukman Paul from Kogi State pleaded for mercy as he resorted to the business after he couldn't find any other means of livelihood.

Mr Paul confessed to have been arrested for the same offence before and was granted bail by a magistrate who made him promise he was going to be of good behavior and responsible citizen of the state.

Another suspect, Mr. Emmanuel Omah said he is an apprentice sent to pick up goods but was apprehended by a team of the OCHA Brigade on his way back despite his explanation with evidence of his goods.

He appealed to the state government to intervene in the matter as he is innocent of the said crime leveled against him.

Parading the suspects, the Managing Director Of OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere who spoke through the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Mr. Anthony Agbaefune commended the joint team of OCHA Brigade and Anambra Vigilante Services for their tireless efforts in riding the state from all kinds of touting activities which before now has continuously inconvenienced the members of the public.

Comrade Anere also pointed out that the enforcement team will continue its patrol to ensure that sanity is restored to the state and streets rid of touts and miscreants who are terrorizing motorists and tricycle operators.

According him, the agency is making necessary efforts to discourage residents and landlords who are in the habit of channeling waste water on major roads which according to him is unlawful.

He asked Ndi Anambra to send in their complains and petition as a way to collectively assist and support Governor Chukwuma Soludo's drive to better Anambra.

Nri Regent, Onyesoh Endorses Federal Lawmaker, Nwankwo's Senatorial Ambition For Anambra Central, Asks Subjects to Commit 100% Votes To APGA.

The regent of Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area, Prince Ikenna Onyesoh has urged the people of his community and the entire council area to cast 100% of their votes for the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Honourable Dozie Nwankwo in the February 25 National Assembly elections.

The regent made the call when Honourable Nwankwo led his campaign tour to the community.

Prince Onyesoh said APGA as a political party has achieved a lot in providing democracy dividends to all the communities in Anambra State and described Honourable Nwankwo as an approachable politician who is ready to listen to his constituents at any given time, saying that he feels more comfortable having the Enugwu-Ukwu philanthropist at the red chamber than any other candidate.

Prince Onyesoh asked the electorate to speak with their PVC during the election so as to turn around the hardship that has befallen the county as according to him, the choice made during the February 25 general elections will live with them for the next four years.

For Chief Paschal Okeke-Oraekee, the adoption of Honourable Nwankwo by the Nri Regent is the collective view of the people and assured all APGA candidates of their total support.

At Abagana, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi, commended APGA for her choice of high flying candidates to fly the party's flag in the February 25 and March 11 general elections.

AVM Chiobi recalled the numerous achievements and projects of APGA administrations in the state and encouraged people of the community to find comfort that Honourable Nwankwo has come to redeem the people of the are from poor representation of their past representatives who are only concerned with enriching themselves.

Addressing the people at the different communities, Hon. Nwankwo challenged the people of the area especially Ndị Nri to rise and take back their rights, pointing out that most of the interventions done by some candidates are their Constituency's rights who even underperform with the constituency funds allocated to them.

The federal lawmaker revealed that without their individual PVCs, their quest for quality representative can not be fulfilled, asking them to find pride with the only identity and voice of the Ndi Igbo APGA as a political party.

While pledging their unalloyed support to APGA, some people who decamped into the party persons who spoke through their representative, Mr. Chinedu Ezekwe thanked the party for bringing them back home.

Honourable Nwankwo also visited Adazi-Nnukwu and Nimo communities to solicit for votes, listing his achievements as the Lawmaker representing Njikoka, Anaocha, Dunukofia Local Government Area.

Business Mogul, Okafor-Nwofia Urges Federal Government To End Insecurity, Hyper-Inflation As Nigerians Go To Polls This Month

A business mogul, Chief Michael Okafor-Nwofia has called on the federal government to do everything humanly possible to ease the suffering of Nigerians.

Chief Nwofia while speaking to newsmen in Awka, regretted the hardship Nigerians are passing through at the moment ranging from insecurity, high cost of living, scarcity of premium motor spirit among others.

He noted that the current insecurity in the country has reached an alarming stage, and urged President Mohammadu Buhari led administration to urgently tackle the problem head-on.

Chief Nwofia who is a transport guru said that the redesigning of naira is a good Initiative by the Central Bank of Nigeria but the apex bank should look at the implemention of the policy, as it is negatively affecting Nigerians.

The business executive called on Nigerians to use the forthcoming general elections to vote competent leaders that will turn around the economic fortunes of Nigerians.

Chief Nwofia who is an indegine of Iyiora Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area urged Politicians not to over heat the policy, and ensure that there is an enabling environment that will guarantee a peaceful transition of power later this year.
