The Hagia Sophia was one of the most famous Christian cathedrals in the world. It was built in Constantinople/Istanbul in the 6th century under the direction of the Greek Byzantine emperor Justinian I.

It was also the world’s greatest cathedral at least until the Turks invaded the city in the 15th century, and turned this magnificent edifice into a mosque.

Similar to the Eiffel Tower in Paris or the Parthenon in Athens, the Hagia Sophia is a long-enduring symbol of Constantinople. And if it were located in a country that respects history, religious freedom, and cultural heritage, no doubt it would still be recognised and respected as the Cathedral that it was built to be.

The Turkish government, however, turned it into a museum in 1934, and then back into a mosque in 2020.

Referring to Ottoman sultan Mehmet II, who converted Hagia Sophia into a mosque, as the “Conqueror”, Erdogan said yesterday:

“After 80 years of longing [since Hagia Sophia’s conversion into a museum], we broke the chains together. By the Conquerer’s will, we restored Hagia Sophia to its original identity."

How can the original identity of such a monumental cathedral, built as the greatest of its time, be a mosque?

So the great Byzantine emperors, architects, and workers built this spectacular cathedral as a “mosque” nearly 1500 years ago before Islam even emerged in Arabia?

What kind of claim is this?

Only a Muslim fanatic could have such a distorted view of theology and history.

Palestinian Arabs have no legal case of ownership of the so-called “Palestine,” the name given by the League of Nations to the mandate it awarded to the British after WWI and the fall of the Ottomans, who had allied with Germany.

For over 400 years under the Ottomans, the barren land was called “Southern Syria” in Turkish.

After the Bar Kochba revolt (132-136 CE) against the Romans, the Jews were expelled from Judea. The Romans renamed Judea as “Palestine” to erase their connection with the land.

Even in 1947, when the UN General Assembly recommended partitioning British Mandate Palestine into two states, one Jewish and the other Arab with Greater Jerusalem as an international zone, even then the “Palestinians” had no “Palestinian” authority to decide for them. It was the Arab League that decided and categorically rejected all UN proposals, opening wide Pandora’s Box (and terrorism) for posterity.

Yet, the UN has never blamed the Arab League. Israel has always been the scapegoat of the UN. The UN has always been complicit with Hamas as well.

HISTORICAL VISIT TO OHAFIA BY THE OBOLO LEADERS

In August, the Obolo people of Andoni (Rivers State) and Eastern Obolo (Akwa Ibom State), ably represented by their leaders, made a historical visit to the Ohafia Kingdom in Abia state.

During the meeting, their shared history was discussed, and the need for brotherly cooperation was agreed upon.

From the visit, a few points could be noted.

1) The Obolo area was a middle point in the migration of Ohafia to Owan in Benin and vice versa.

2) Other Obolo groups like Ịdọ migrated to Kalabari and settled there.

3) Obolo and Ohafia still share a lot of cultural similarities.

4) The Obolo, despite oil politics in the South-South, still recognise their link to Ohafia (and Igbo land).

5) The Obolo recognise Igbo as part of their origin. The other being the Ibibio.

For the benefit of my audience who are not Isobo indigenes, what you have above is an attempt at identifying the letters that make up the Isobo Dialect Alphabet. And for the indigenes, you would have observed that in the Isobo phonology, the English Language letter 'F' is not entirely absent but rarely pronounced.

Like the example in the letter 'F' above, 'Defuta' is a borrowed word in Isobo due to dialectical inflection from other Igboid dialects as a result of interactions.

The letter F in Isobo Language is pronounced jointly with the letter 'V' to give 'FV' sound like we have in ufvere (air), ofve (soup), erfve (them) and so on.

You would have also noticed that the English Language letter 'Q' is reflected in Isobo Language with the consonant cluster 'KW' and that the letter 'X' has no equivalent in the Isobo Language.

Constructive criticism that would build on what has been done will be highly appreciated, please.

In summary, for effective communication in the Ntkworbo dialect, attention must be given to sounds produced that are quite different when compared with the English language.

This is one of the reasons most natives of Ntkworbo who studied and are very good in the use of the English Language are finding it difficult to identify the difference and sometimes, try to ignore the sounds of Ntkworbo dialect when writing.

WHAT TO DO AS A TENANT IF YOUR LANDLORD SELL THE HOUSE YOU ARE CURRENTLY LIVING IN.

First, you need to know that It is the right of the Landlord to sell his property whenever he chooses to do so.
It does not matter whether or not there are tenants in the property and It does not matter that they just renewed their tenancy or they are long-term tenants in the property.

He also does not need the permission of the tenants to sell his property.

While the landlord can sell at anytime, the New Buyer or the New Landlord cannot take possession at anytime just like that.
There are laws that govern the process for taking possession of a new property that have tenants staying there.

The sale of the property does not confer on the New landlord or the new owner the right to forcibly eject any tenant from the property.

The Rent you paid to the former Landlord still runs and can't be terminated by the New Landlord for any reason.

At the expiration of your rent, You are entitled to 6 months Notice to Quit.

The New owner does not have the right to start breaking down the building or part of it, in order to inconvenient the tenants.

The New owner does not have right to intimidate you or abuse you verbally for any reason.

The new owner does not have the right to Physically assault you or bring some thugs to threaten you to pack out.

If the New owner or Landlord, Goes against any of this law stated above.

Feel free as a Tenant to Arrest the New Landlord and charge him to Court immediately

Let him come and tell the court who gave him the power to go against the law because he just buy new house.

Under the Law, The landlord is expected to make sure that the property is in a habitable state for tenants to live in and The landlord also has the responsibility of ensuring that basic amenities are available and in order for tenants use.

Soak away is one of the Basic Amenities of the the Landlord's Property, so therefore it is the Landlord's responsibility to make sure it is in good condition.

Either the Landlord stays in the compound or not.
The law does not care.

And refusal of the Landlord to put the Soak Away in order gives the Tenant the right to file a Suit against the Landlord to return the money they paid for Rent.

If the Landlord is found Guilty of the allegations , the Court will order him to return the tenants Rent in full

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse

This also apply to repair of the house or fixing water pumping machine

: As a youth, If any police team illegally arrest and extort you, using an unknown account, or POS agent to withdraw or transfer money from your account, Go to the bank where such account is domiciled & complain. Tell them that armed robbers transfered money from your account on gunpoint into the said account.

The bank will ask you to go get a police report to that effect, or a court order. Go to the state police headquarters of the state where the incident happened, request to see the commissioner of Police or the state police PRO to complain.

Tell the commissioner of Police or the state PRO what happened, the location where it happened. And if you can remember the team, tell them. But most importantly, tell them that your reason for coming is because you have gone to the bank to report the account number.

That the bank asked you to go to the state headquarters and obtain an official police report. I can guarantee you that the owner of that account will be apprehended. But if they give you a police report or acknowledge your complaint, the bank will place (PND) on that account, With an instruction that if the owner of that account shows up, the police should be alerted.

Even if the account belongs to a POS agent, the person will face the music. The person will refund your money. Because POS operators work hand in hand with rogue police officers.

The police can easily apprehend the police officer or team that extorted you through the apprehended POS operator.
At the police headquarters, especially at the office of the CP or PRO, you will see police professionalism and respect. They will treat you well.

‘Military should report Asari Dokubo to Police, DSS for investigations’
Former Minister of Communications, Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju, has described it as too weighty to be ignored by the government, the allegations by Niger Delta ex-militant leader, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, that the Nigerian Army, Navy and some cabals are behind 99 per cent of the oil theft in the country.

Former minister noted that by the context, they represented a breach of national security.

It would be recalled that Dokubo made the allegations after he had an audience with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in State House, Abuja on Friday, stating that the president had promised to investigate allegations of huge oil bunkering by notorious naval commanders that were kingpins and take decisive action to halt the shameful act.

The ex-militant added that there were powerful cabals operating from Abuja, vowing that these powerful forces in place had now met their match and would soon be marched to Kuje Prison.

Olanrewaju made the call on Saturday in his reaction, saying that the Nigeria Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) should invite Dokubo to make him “divulge all that he knows so records will be set straight.”

The former General Officer Commanding (GOC), Third Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army, said the allegations looked more like an attempt to bring down the military and make militancy popular in the eyes of the people.

Gen. Olanrewaju said it should not be heard that “an Asari Dokubo and his boys were able to carry arms and now boasting around to be behind the success against insecurity caused by terrorists and bandits on Abuja-Kaduna axis, Niger State and across the Niger Delta while putting the military up as liars for laying claims to same.”

“This is cheap political blackmail. Dokubo should be directed by the president to provide whatever evidence is available to him to the security services. An individual like Dokubo cannot eat his cake and have it. He’s now the complainant, jury, and court.

“He has taken an open criticism of the entire security services and has whitewashed them in the public. The accusations are strong and grimmed enough to be thoroughly investigated through a commission of inquiry and steps taken accordingly,” he said.

“This man is playing to the gallery without proof of evidence, and so, he should not be treated lightly. It is in the interest of Mr. President to act on his open denigrating of his Armed Forces as the Commander-in-Chief.

“This man goes about with armed men approved by the Federal Government, and whereas states that have security outfits (e.g. Amotekun) were denied from doing so.

“This kind of double standard has no place in today’s political setting. Gen Abisoye’s NNPC Report & My Review (1993 -95) had taken care of these lapses, but the government ignored them,” he added.

This was just as the former minister recalled that the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, last year October, vowed to investigate oil theft activities in the Niger Delta.

According to him, General Irabor made the vow when he alongside the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mallam Mele Kyari, visited scene of the illegal insertions at the Trans-Escravos pipeline in the Yokiri area of Delta State.

Meanwhile, media platforms, earlier, had reported the counter-statement from the Nigerian Navy, challenging Dokubo to mention names of those involved in such an act, if he was saying the truth.

Director of Naval Information, Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, gave this challenge hours after the accusation, claiming that the Niger Delta leader was only trying to court the favour of President Tinubu with such allegations.

However, General Olanrewaju said the Armed Forces should go steps beyond the Navy’s challenging Dokubo to name anyone but go ahead to report him to the police and DSS to be invited and let him provide all that he knows and be investigated.

“To bring down the military’s credibility will be the costliest mistake that anybody will do and this must not be allowed,” he said.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has described as “defamatory, mischievous, fake, reprehensible, denigrating, insulting and unauthorized”, the public notice issued by Kingsley Kanu alias Kanunta Kanu, that the IPOB leader had dismissed and disengaged, his legal team led by Dr. Mike Ozekhome (SAN).

According to him, the mischievous falsehood was spewed to ridicule and embarrass the legal team.

“In view of the desperate attempt of the enemies to break our rank, the legal team resolved to minimise the information that we make public through my regular updates. Therefore, you will not be receiving updates on our routine visits as regularly as it used to come, except when there is a compelling situation that demands it. Several visits to Onyendu, and particularly, the visit of June 3, 2023, was not publicised because of the nature of the matters discussed, but the relevant persons were duly briefed on the outcomes,”,he emphasised

Ejiofor stated these in a statement issued on Thursday evening after his visit to Nnamdi Kanu at the Headquarters of the Department of State Services in Abuja.

He said, “Let it be on record that Neither Kingsley Kanu nor Emmanuel Kanu, had at any point in time briefed me to handle Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case or even IPOB’s matters. My letters of engagement issued to me since 2015 by Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB are still with me till date.

“Neither Kingsley Kanu nor anybody acting on his behalf engaged Mike Ozekhome, to represent Onyendu in any matters affecting him. Biafrans and members of the public are aware that Onyendu specifically requested to see Mike Ozekhome upon his abduction and extraordinary rendition to Nigeria. During that meeting, which details are already in the public domain, Onyendu personally briefed Mike Ozekhome to head his legal team. Till date, Mike Ozekhome, SAN has done creditably and overwhelmingly well in deploying his advocacy skills in representing Onyendu in all Courts in Nigeria.

“Further to the above, my briefings with Onyendu, lasted for over one hour, during which we discussed pertinent issues concerning his legal and health matters. There was no time during the meeting that Onyendu entertained or expressed any iota of doubt whatsoever on the ability of his indefatigable legal team, ably led by Mike Ozekhome, to defend him. Onyendu, also proceeded to avail me with other important messages to be passed on to his lead counsel which assignments are expected to be conducted within the next 24 hours.

Kingsley Kanu in a bid to preempt any exposition I may make after today’s visit proceeded to make the ridiculous publication at exactly 1:57 pm Nigerian time, a few minutes before the scheduled visit of 2:00 pm. He need not have worried because out of respect and deference to Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, I do not intend to make any such exposition.

“As you may be aware, right from July 26, 2021, when an order was made by Hon. Justice Binta Nyako, directing the DSS to allow Onyendu access to his lawyers and relatives, upon prior submission of the names of those visiting Onyendu, my chambers has been exclusively submitting names of those visiting Onyendu and this process still subsists. The names are usually shared with Onyendu before clearance is given by the DSS for the visits to take place.

“Against the backdrop of the foregoing, I wish to unequivocally state that Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu never dismissed, disengaged, neither has he expressed any intention of dismissing his legal team ably led by Prof. Mike Ozekhome. Biafrans and indeed the members of the general public are respectively advised to ignore in its entirety, the obviously defamatory, mischievous, fake, reprehensible, denigrating, insulting and unauthorized public notice issued by Kingsley Kanu alias Kanunta Kanu, as it is not true.

“May the general public and indeed Biafrans, be properly guided that the simple reason for dishing out such condemnable falsehood is to ridicule and embarrass Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team ably led by an erudite, foremost and distinguished Senior Advocate of our time – Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN.

“Kingsley Kanu should be assured that his evil strategies are dead on arrival. There is nothing whatsoever, that will stop or deter Onyendu’s legal team who are tirelessly working day and night to ensure that Onyendu is released unconditionally.

“In conclusion, Onyendu further used the opportunity offered by my visit to thank Ezigbo Umuchineke for standing shoulder to shoulder with him, particularly all through this trying time. Onyendu assured Ezigbo Umuchineke once again that it shall surely end in Praises. He urges you all to remain firm, steadfast, and unrelenting in your supplications to God.

“Furthermore, Onyendu implores Ezigbo Umuchineke to continue to abide by your peaceful conduct as you have consistently demonstrated.”

Ejiofor also clarified that the medical doctors who attempted to see Kanu last week Tuesday, June 6, 2023, were not there to participate in any surgical procedure but to first meet and interface with him.

He said the doctors were expected to consult with Kanu’s lead counsel- Mike Ozekhome, before proceeding with other administrative engagements as they agreed during their meeting on June 3, 2023, held with the DSS in the presence of the IPOB leader.

“Biafrans should note and be assured that Onyendu’s legal team, ably led by the legal iroko of our time – Mike Ozekhome, is monitoring every situation around Onyendu. We are not resting on our oars. Hence, there is no cause for alarm. We are thousands of steps ahead of the evil plans of the enemies. Onyendu will be out of the DSS gulag strong and unbroken,” he said.
