This is the perfect time for our Representatives to take action and address the issue of poor electricity in our various constituency by Introducing solar systems to the boreholes in each ward. It would enable people to pump water even during electricity shortages. Solar power is a sustainable and reliable alternative that can make a real difference in improving the lives of our community. It’s really disheartening to see how many people are struggling and crying out for water due to lack of access. It’s a basic necessity that everyone should have, Introducing solar systems to the boreholes in each ward could be a game-changer in addressing this issue. It would provide a more sustainable and reliable solution for water supply.

However, it’s crucial for all representatives, including senators, to step up and address the pressing issues in Yobe. The lack of access to water is a critical problem that requires immediate attention and collaborative efforts. The state Governor can’t tackle this alone; it’s the responsibility of all elected officials to provide solutions.

The people voted for you all with high hopes, and it’s time for you to fulfill your obligations. The current situation with no electricity, no water, and financial difficulties is indeed overwhelming. We can only hope for positive changes and that the people in power truly listen to the concerns of the people they serve. Let’s hope that the necessary actions are taken to alleviate this situation soon!

Rabiatu holds a B.Sc. in Petroleum Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from Nile University of Nigeria. Currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Industrial Chemistry at the same institution, she focuses on the "Characterization and Extraction of REEs from Coal" using hydrometallurgical processes. Coal has emerged as a viable source of REEs, believed to contain significant amounts, crucial for renewable energy production and various industries. REEs find applications in catalysis, permanent magnets, metal alloys, and more. Coal, abundant among fossil fuels, serves as a dependable energy source and feedstock for chemical, fuel, and steel manufacturing globally. Rabiatu aims to provide a comprehensive overview of REE extraction from coal, highlighting its energy sector potential and associated challenges. Beyond academia, Rabiatu is so passionate and actively involved in politics and business, hosting the "Weekend Show With Rabia (WSWR)," addressing national issues with expert discussions and solution-oriented approaches.
