Dear Your Excellency and APC Kaduna State Chapter,
Request for Democratic Processes in the Upcoming APC Local Government Primary Election in Lere Local Government
I hope this letter finds you well. My attention has been drawn to social media discussions regarding the selection process of the APC chairman candidate for the upcoming Local Government election in Lere Local Government. It appears that there are plans to select a candidate rather than allowing a democratic primary election to take place.
I would like to respectfully remind Your Excellency, Malam Uba Sani, of the significant support you received from Lere Local Government during your election. Despite our substantial representation within the government, APC did not perform well in the gubernatorial election in our local government, largely due to perceived leadership deficiencies and the self-serving actions of certain representatives.
At this crucial juncture, it is disheartening to witness attempts by some politicians to endorse an incompetent and incapacitated candidate for the APC chairman position, driven by their own self-interest. Such a decision, I fear, will likely lead to an opposition victory in the upcoming election, potentially by a significant margin.
I urge the APC leadership in Kaduna State to allow democratic principles to prevail in Lere Local Government. Conducting a fair and transparent primary election will ensure that the most capable candidate is selected, thereby strengthening our chances of success. Failure to do so may result in considerable internal dissent and anti-party activities.
My team and I are committed to supporting the right candidate, irrespective of party affiliation. This commitment guided our support for you, Your Excellency, based on the expectation of justice and good governance.
I am Elmuaz Lere, a dedicated APC member from Lere Ward in Lere Local Government. I write this letter to express our collective rejection of the candidate currently being promoted on social media. We earnestly seek justice and fairness in the selection process, particularly for us in Lere Ward and for the youth who stand to be significantly impacted.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to a fair resolution that reflects the democratic values we uphold.
