Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink had one of the most famous names in all of football, but have you ever wondered why he [Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink] had to include where he came from on the back of his shirt?

According to the Guardian, he had that name because, way back in the 17th century, two farming families in the Enschede area of Holland intermarried.

Both the Vennegoor and Hesselink names carried equal social weight, and so - rather than choose between them - they chose to use both.

He played for FC Twente, PSV, Celtic, Hull City and Rapid Vienna while earning 19 caps for the Netherlands national team between 2000 and 2009. He scored 176 career goals.

NFA CUP TO INCLUDE WOMEN

The significance of the announcement of the return of the NFA Cup earlier today is that it will now feature a women's section.
All regions with women's leagues will participate in the preliminary rounds on 9 and 10 March as well as 16 and 17 March, along with the men's first and second divisions.
The competition proper will start with the Round of 32 on Saturday, 7 April while the final is scheduled for Saturday, 25 May.

The engine One stop tournament is an event that unearths many a talent, herewith is tye future of Namibian football commentary in venecular.

Orano Usakos Engine One Service Festival currently taking place in Usakos. The annual tournament returns after nearly four years absent. The festivals include Football, Netball and Volleyball. There are prize money up for grab. The tournament will end tomorrow, Sunday. The marathon event that was scheduled to take place did not.
