🚨BREAKING NEWS:
Former President Donald J. Trump completed the greatest political comeback in modern U.S. history in the early hours of Wednesday, claiming enough electoral votes to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris and return to the White House for a second term.
Trump will Become the 47th President of the United States.
Not since Grover Cleveland in 1892 has a U.S. president been elected to two nonconsecutive terms in office.
In the end, Trump was able to pull off the feat not with a strategy of simply rallying his base, but by actually expanding the Republican electoral map.

President Paul Kagame set for fourth term as the electoral authorities declare him winner of Rwanda presidential election after garnering 99.15 per cent of the votes. Kagame has ruled Rwanda since 2000.

Provisional results in the Rwanda's Monday elections shows that the incumbent, President Paul Kagame is leading with 7,099,810 votes while his closest opponent Habineza Frank received 38,301 votes and the third placed Mpayimana Philippe garners 22,753 of the votes counted so far.

Meet Masoud Pezeshkian the president-elect of Iran.
The 69 year old won the run off election against ultra conservative Saeed Jalili.
Before this election, the reformist Pezeshkian was representing Tabriz, Osku and Azarshahr electoral district in the Parliament of Iran, and also served as its First Deputy Speaker from 2016 to 2020.
He served as the country's Minister of Health and Medical Education between 2001 and 2005 in the Government of President Mohammad Khatami.

Even with ever advancing technology that continues to disrupt the way we do things, the media remains an integral part of our daily lives; playing a vital role in shaping our perspectives, informing us about current events, and influencing societal norms.
From traditional platforms such as television, radio, and newspapers to modern digital media outlets, the media has a significant impact on individuals and society as a whole.

I today represented our media house, MILLENNIUM MEDIA SERVICES (K) LIMITED & Radio Mikayi during the first day of the two days Roundtable Engagement Forum- Western & Nyanza Region convened by the industry regulator Communications Authority of Kenya at Ciala Resort -Kisumu.

On its part, the CA urged the media managers to uphold and adhere to the Programming Code for Broadcasting Services whose latest edition (4th Ed) was released in early April this year.

The media on the other hand urged the authority to review some of its compliance requirements to be more fair to all industry players rather than punitive.

The 2 day event that drew media managers and producers from the lake region counties of Siaya, Homa Bay, Kakamega, Kisumu, Migori, Nyamira and Kisii is expected to end tomorrow.

The International Day of the African Child is commemorated every year on 16 June since 1991. On this day we remember black high school students who participated in the Soweto Uprising in South Africa in June 1976 when they began a series of demonstrations and protests against education injustice and inequality during the apartheid regime. It is estimated that about 20,000 students took part in the protests. They were met with police brutality and many were shot and killed. Thus 16 June every year is held in honour of the African child.
In a bid to address the pressing issue of access to education for children across the African continent, this year's theme: “Education for all Children in Africa: the Time is Now” aligns with the African Union’s Year of Education, which focuses on building resilient education systems to ensure increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality and relevant learning in Africa.
Radio Mikayi is hosting Mama Betty Kaari Murungi, The First Lady, Siaya County who is the chief guest during the county's celebrations to be held on Tuesday 18 June, 2024 at JARAMOGI OGINGA ODINGA UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (JOOUST).

Plans for the construction of the 256km multi-national Kisumu-Kisian-Busia/Kakira-Malaba-Busitema-Busia expressway is set to start soon.
This comes after The African Development Bank (AfDB) expressed its support of the project through a US $1.4million funding that will be used for the feasibility study.
