PesaCheck is East Africa's first indigenous fact-checking initiative, holding public figures and the media honest and accountable so that the public has accurate information for better informed decision-making.
PesaCheck is an initiative of Code for Africa, in partnership with the International Budget Partnership (IBP), with support from the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ).
As Kenya’s first media-focused fact-checking service, PesaCheck examines and explains budgetary and public finance issues to citizens in a manner which will help them make informed decisions and actively participate in the budget making process.
