I’d rather be a small man in a big world than a big man in a small world. So, even as a small man, I set out to direct a classic series of plays by Nobel laureates, with the knowledge that there are astonishing plays that have become world-famous on the global stage. The series will include at least 75 plays. Yesterday, as part of the Onam celebrations, when Asianet and Maitri Advertising Agency staged J. M. Synge’s Irish play Riders to the Sea, the people, who came in a carnival mood, embraced the performance with open arms and felt both happy and proud. I am doing this play for the Malayalees who live with us, not for the theatre personalities. Moreover, this drama will be performed in different countries in the Malayalam language.

"Empowerment and Elegance: 'Laapataa Ladies'
Thank You and for such an amazing work. Laapataa Ladies is a perfect example of how cinema can become immortal if treated right.

This simple yet heart touching movie is all about self discovery for women of rural India in the early 21st century. During this journey of self discovery, they also help other women who have lost their identity, find themselves. The brilliance however lies in how a simple thought as this has been subtly and hilariously implemented by the directors.(of course with the help of the entire movie crew). In doing so, they have also nicely captured the intricacies of relationships between women in a household. Not to mention the dialogue writers who keep us glued to the screen with their hilarious, emotional and thought provoking dialogues. The one that i loved the most - “We women know how to become good daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law etc, but we need to learn to become good friends first…..” So rightly said. Half of the world's problems would vanish if we could succeed in achieving this.

The entire star cast have played their parts really well. But, Ravi Kishen, Durgesh Kumar, Sparsh Srivastava, Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Geeta Aggarwal and Chhaya Kadam stand out with their expressive acting and dialogue delivery.

The movie is devoid of nudity/intimate scenes and almost zero vulgar dialogues. So, can be enjoyed with other family members.

Every minute spent watching this movie was truly worth it.
