J&K BJP Chief urges all political parties to accept Supreme Court’s final decision on Art 370

Says apex court’s decision ‘more significant than politics’

Srinagar, Dec 09: BJP J&K President, Ravinder Raina expressed confidence in India's democratic values and the legal system ahead of the Supreme Court's verdict on Article 370, scheduled for Monday.

Speaking to reporters at Church Lane in Srinagar, Raina, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “India is a democratic country governed by the rule of law, and we all have faith in our legal system and courts.”

“We all are ready to support and accept the court’s decision,” he said, adding, “During the hearings, both parties and the opposition presented their views in court, and the Supreme Court telecast the Article 370 proceedings online, allowing the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the world, to witness the process.”

The J&K BJP chief expressed hope that everyone in Jammu and Kashmir and across the country would respect the apex court’s decision, which he said is “above politics”. “The court's decision is more significant than politics, and we all have to accept it,” he added.

He urged other political parties, including the National Conference, People's Democratic Party, Congress, Peoples Conference and Apni Party to also accept the final decision by the Supreme Court.

Regarding elections and seat reservations in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Raina said, “I want elections to be held here as early as possible; and like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, BJP will win here as well with a majority.”

He proposed provisions for nominated MLAs, including two women—one a Kashmiri migrant and another from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir residing in India—to represent their respective communities. “This way, they can speak on behalf of their people,” he said.

The BJP leader further suggested including nominated MLAs from various communities, such as Kashmiri Pandits, Sikhs, Muslim migrants and other groups. “They should be given preference,” he said—(KNO)

Govt Needs An Excuse To Put Us Under House Arrest, Claims Omar Abdullah

Srinagar, Dec 9: National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah Saturday expressed apprehension that mainstream politicians in Kashmir may be put under house arrest ahead of the Supreme Court’s verdict on Article 370 petitions, claiming the government needs just an “excuse” for it.

He said he can only hope and pray the decision is in favour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“They need an excuse to put us under house arrest and they have an excuse. As we are unaware of what the decision would be, so are they. If they know, then there should be an investigation,” Abdullah told reporters in Kulgam district when asked about his views ahead of Monday’s verdict.

“Who will say with authority what is to happen? I do not have any such machinery or way by which I can come to know today what those five honourable judges have in their hearts, or what they have written in the judgement.

“I can only hope and pray that the decision is in our favour, but, I cannot neither claim that success will be ours, nor, anyone else can. We are waiting for the judgement, let it come, we will talk then,” he said. To a question about what the NC’s future course of action, the former chief minister said he does not react to ifs and buts.

“Let the decision come, we are not running away from here. We will react then,” he added. Responding to another question about the expulsion of TMC MP Mahua Moitra, Abdullah said it was very unfortunate. “After her expulsion, when Moitra spoke to media, Farooq (Abdullah) was present. Our full support and sympathy is with her.

We regret that she was not allowed to speak in the Parliament to clear her stand. This proves that might is right,” he said. Omar said the BJP should remember that they will not be in power forever" he said.–(PTI)

The grand finale of the show MasterChef India Season 8 was telecasted on Friday in which Dr Rukhsar From Kashmir was declared as the second runner up of the show. She has won Rs 5 lakh for securing the second position in the show

Dr Rukhsar Writes On Her Facebook Profile :

I may not have won today, but my heart is filled with humility, and content. I want to bow down before my Creator for writing this amazing journey in my destiny.

The dish that I chose to make today, "Platter of Brotherhood", had many elements each representing the essence of the cultural harmony of Kashmir and I'm so so proud of it. It's been really a pleasure given the chance to be a part of this culinary journey. MasterChef India was always a distant dream but not anymore. This journey has inspired me to be a better person and a better cook. And this is not the end. It's the beginning of a new era. I hope you'll all continue to follow my journey and watch me grow. Cooking is my passion and I will not let go of it. I'm sure Allah has something great in store for me. This is an achievement for us! Me, you, and all of us!

Next year will be all about finding myself, learning, failing, succeeding and if Allah wills, opening my own little restaurant in Kashmir (which has always been a dream). I'll also try my best to arrange cooking classes for all those willing to learn and experiment.

Again, would need your prayers and support. Thank you for everything.
