*3 VEHICLES SEIZED FOR ILLEGAL MINING BY SAMBA POLICE*

Samba, March 6: Intensifying its drive against illegal mining in the district, Samba Police has seized three vehicles in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material.

A Police team of Police Station Samba headed by SHO Police Station Samba while performing patrolling duty in jurisdictional area, has seized one tractor trolley without registration number for illegal mining/transportation of construction material in the area. Whereas, a Police party of Police Post Rakh Amb Talli headed by Incharge Police Post Rakh Amb Talli while on patrolling duty in the area has seized one tractor trolleys bearing regd. Nos. JK21H-9554 for illegal mining/transportation in the area.

Similarly, a Police party of Police Post Mansar headed by Incharge Police Post Mansar during patrolling duty in the area has seized one dumper bearing regd. No. JK14F-8303 for illegal mining/transportation in the area.

The above mentioned vehicles have been seized by Samba Police and handed over to Geology & Mining Department, Samba for further action.

*SAMBA POLICE ARRESTS BOVINE SMUGGLER, RESCUES 2 BOVINES, SEIZES WAGON R CAR*

Samba, February 15 : Samba Police has arrested a bovine smuggler who had been evading arrest in a case registered against him in Police Station Samba and also rescued two bovines in a bovine smuggling bid in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal in which a Wagon R car used for bovine transportation was seized.

The bovine smuggler identified as Tanver Ahmed S/o Nazir Ahmed Doyee R/o Kadder Anantnag has been arrested in case FIR No. 44/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act registered at Police Station Samba. Further investigation is underway.

A Police team of Police Station Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, signalled to stop a Wagon R car bearing regd. No. JK02BB-5655 coming from Kathua side for checking. But the driver of vehicle accelerated the speed endangering the life of police personnel on naka duty. The alert cops successfully intercepted the vehicle near naka point and during checking of the car, two bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. However, driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.

A case FIR No. 19/2023 U/S 188, 336 IPC, 11 PCA Act, 50, 52, 54 Transport of Animal Rules has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal. Further investigation is underway.

*NOTORIOUS BOVINE SMUGGLER ARRESTED BY SAMBA POLICE*

Samba, Jan 30 : Samba Police has arrested notorious bovine smuggler, who had been evading arrest in case registered against him in Police Station Ghagwal.

The notorious bovine smuggler identified as Shakeel Ahmed s/o Ghulam Ali r/o Majheen tehsil and district Jammu has been arrested in case FIR No. 03/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act registered at Police Station Samba. Further investigation is underway.

A total of one hundred twenty three (123) notorious bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in short span of time after the launch of special drive, ninety five (95) FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, eighty three (83) vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and eight hundred ninety seven (897) bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.

*SSP SAMBA INAUGURATED CYBER CELL AT DISTRICT POLICE HEADQUARTERS*

Samba, Jan 29 : Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh today inaugurated Cyber Cell established at District Police Headquarters Samba to effectively deal with increasing cybercrime cases. The cyber cell was opened in the presence of Additional SSP Samba Surinder Choudhary, all SDPOs, all SHOs, IC PPs and other police officers & officials.

Cyber Cell shall deal with cybercrimes like online cyber frauds, financial frauds, social media frauds and all other types of cyber frauds. The cyber cell shall also deal with online cyber complaints received through National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCCRP).

The cyber team Samba manning newly established cyber cell shall also train subordinate staff and Investigating Officers of Police Stations in district Samba and assist them in dealing with cybercrime cases.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh advised the general public of district Samba to stay alert while doing any activity on the internet and not to share personal credentials, bank details, OTP to any unknown person/Internet user. SSP further requested the netizens to follow safety tips so that cyber frauds may be prevented.
