Employment Department Organizes Women Entrepreneurship and Self Help Group Mela
The Employment Department successfully organized a Women Entrepreneurship and Self Help Group (SHG) Mela at CFC Shah Balore on 30.12.2025, with the objective of promoting women-led enterprises, encouraging self-employment, and strengthening the economic empowerment of women.
The mela witnessed enthusiastic participation from women entrepreneurs and Self Help Groups from various blocks and urban areas of the district. The event provided a vibrant platform for SHGs and women entrepreneurs to showcase their products, exchange ideas, and explore market linkages. A wide range of products, including handicrafts, handloom items, food products, eco-friendly goods, and locally made artefacts, were displayed and sold during the mela.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Smt. Ayushi Sudan, IAS, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the crucial role of women entrepreneurs and SHGs in driving inclusive economic growth and self-reliance. She appreciated the efforts of the participating women and encouraged them to expand their enterprises by availing government support systems.
Assistant Director Employment, Samba, Shri Naresh Kumar highlighted various schemes under Mission YUVA and other initiatives aimed at promoting women entrepreneurship, skill development, and self-employment opportunities. Beneficiaries were guided on accessing financial assistance, training programmes, and marketing support.
The mela also facilitated interaction between SHGs and various line departments, enabling participants to gain awareness about credit facilities and business development services. The Employment Department reaffirmed its commitment to promoting women empowerment through sustainable livelihood opportunities and assured continued support for women-led initiatives in the future.
