Acting on the reliable information regarding presence of a hideout in the general area of Dalas Barneli, sub division Arnas, an operation was launched to sanitise the area which was led by Party of SPP Thilloo in the Dalas Barneli area of Arnas.
During the search and cordon operation Police team recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition from the hideout in Dalas Barneli area of Arnas. The recoveries include:

02. 12 cartridge of Assault Rifle
03. One pull through
04. One hand held Tape recorder IED Enabled
05. One calculator IED enabled
06. One battery
07. Few connecting wires

𝗔𝗗𝗚𝗣 𝗟𝗔𝗪 & 𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗛𝗥𝗜 𝗩𝗶𝗷𝗮𝘆 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿-𝗜𝗣𝗦 (𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿) conducted a significant visit to District Reasi, where he chaired a comprehensive security & election review meeting with officers including 𝗗𝗘𝗢 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗦𝗵. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗻-𝗝𝗞𝗔𝗦, 𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦, *CO IR- 1st Bn Anita Sharma-IPS* Addl. SP Reasi Sh. Iftkhar Ahmed-JKPS, Addl. SP Katra Sh. Vipan Chandran-JKPS, SDPOs and other senior police officials. The meeting focused on devising strategic measures to enhance security, combat the threat of OGWs as well as ANEs to ensure the peaceful conduct of upcoming elections.

𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦, provided a detailed overview of the proactive measures taken by the police to address challenges at the grassroots level and breifed the chair regarding the election preparedness including enforcement of model code of conduct, expenditure monitoring, security plan, security of contesting candidates/Strong rooms, transport and communication plan and the functioning of SSTs, VSTs and FSTs and coordination efforts to ensure a successful election process.

Officers gave brief reports on action taken and next course of action. SSP Reasi gave an elaborate Power Point presentation on the preparedness of Parliamentary Election and DEO presented District Election Management Plan (DEMP).

𝗔𝗗𝗚𝗣 𝗟𝗔𝗪 & 𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗛𝗥𝗜 𝗩𝗶𝗷𝗮𝘆 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿-𝗜𝗣𝗦 stressed the importance of establishing a robust security grid and taking all preventive measures to thrawt the attempts of ANEs to disturb the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

He emphasized leveraging modern technology for transparent and result-oriented policing and urged officers to adopt innovative approaches to tackle contemporary challenges.

In the meeting threadbare discussions were held regarding security arrangements for forthcoming Parliamentary Elections. All the officers shared their inputs & arrangements to 𝗔𝗗𝗚𝗣 𝗟&𝗢 for peaceful conduct of Parliamentary Elections.

SSP Reasi briefed about various security arrangements in place for the peaceful conduct of these events in co-ordination with intelligence agencies and security forces deployed in the district.

𝗔𝗗𝗚𝗣 𝗟&𝗢 also expressed his concern to contain if there is any attempt to revival of militancy in the district by adopting a pro active approach and alertness of highest level.
Social media monitoring and generation of human intelligence was top among the directive of the Officer. Further directed to use full energy of jawans and give 100% for free, fair and peaceful conduct of Parliamentary Elections.

Meeting ended with the positive note on Coordination and Cooperation between all the security forces & sister agencies.

*POLICE OBSERVER VISITS REASI TO OVERSEE ELECTION PREPAREDNESS*

Police Observer for 5-Jammu parliamentary constituency Dr. Bhopal Gajarai, IPS Observer visited DPO Reasi to oversee election preparedness. He held meeting with SSP Reasi, District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Reasi and other senior Police officers at DPO Reasi.

Police Observer advised the officers to continue their efforts, work with dedication. He emphasized on the need for strict adherence to election rules and regulations, especially in ensuring free and fair polling process and urged the officers to be vigilant in addressing any concerns that may arise.

*DEO Reasi, Sh. Working on multipronged strategy to deal with habitual criminals and those indulging in heinous crimes in recurring manner, District Police Reasi booked a notorious criminal of Reasi under Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged him in District Jail Udhampur.

Jaswinder Singh @ Sundri son of Ganga Singh resident of Sarna Tehsil Katra District Reasi is a criminal of desperate character and habitual of indulging in acts of attempt to murder cases including serious offences as well as organised crime that disrupt peace in the area. The detail of cases is FIR No. 121/2011 U/S 341/323/32 4 RPC Act, FIR No. 232/2012 U/S 341/323 RPC, , FIR No.248/2012 U/307/323/34 RPC Act, FIR No. 185/2013 451/323/382 RPC, 4/27 Arms Act, FIR No. 252/2022 451/427/323/34 IPC, FIR No. 252/2022 451/427/323/34 IPC, FIR No. 368/2023 307/34 IPC registered at Police Station Katra.

Moreover in view of his continuous involvement in criminal cases and he is also found motivating local youth to indulge in similar activities and therefore it became imperative to book him under stringent law to save younger generation from indulging in crimes of serious offences and preventing him to commit crime in future also.

On the directions of 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, his dossiers for Public Safety Act was framed and sent for necessary detention order to District Magistrate Reasi who formally issued the order No.01-PSA of 2024 of his detention under PSA. On the orders of Sh. Vishesh Paul Mahajan District Magistrate, Reasi, Jaswinder Singh was arrested and lodged in District Jail Udhampur under Public Safety Act.

SSP Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is committed towards the safety of the public and to eradicate notorious criminal from the society.

𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦 along with SP Katra Sh. Vipin Chandran-JKPS , SDPO Katra Sh. Surinder Singh and SHO Katra visited Police Post Kakryal and Police Post Banganga held casual inspection of both Police Posts, checked all the record of Police Posts and found maintained. The I/C PP office, reporting room as well as premises of the Police Posts found neat and clean.

SSP Reasi interacted with Police personal of both Police Posts and the grievances of the Police Personnel were listened patiently and they were assured that their genuine demands will be redressed on their merits.

SSP also visited vital installation falling under the jurisdiction of both Police Posts of Katra town. Necessary directions were imparted to the subordinates on the eve of upcoming Navratras festival and Lok Sabha elections.

The Police Officers/officials have also been briefed by SSP Reasi that public service is the prime duty of J&K Police, reiterating that safety of human lives and public property has remained among top priorities of the force. She said that the force, despite facing tough challenges, has succeeded in prevailing a sense of security among the public. She said that with the active cooperation of the people, the force has succeeded in bringing peace in the District and it is our endeavor to keep the peace maintained at all levels and also directed that remain interacted with people of the area regularly

As a prelude to the ensuing Lok Sabha-2024 Elections, District Police Reasi carried out a flag march in collaboration with District Administration Reasi across various areas. The flag march was led by 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗦𝗵. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗻-𝗝𝗞𝗔𝗦 alongwith SDM Katra, Addl. SP Katra, CRPF, ITBP and other officials of Police & District administration Reasi.

A General briefing regarding the election duties and responsibilities of Police and CAPF was given on spot. After the proper briefing with regard to familiarization of area, area domination, sensitivities and confidence building measure in the area of responsibility and for creating a peaceful, smooth and tranquil atmosphere for free, fair and peaceful conduct of GPE 2024 in Reasi.

The nafri was briefed and instructed that while on duty at any time any place, the police official must be very polite, civilized but firm in his duties while dealing the common man or citizen.

Traversing through major thoroughfares and key intersections, the road march served as a platform to disseminate vital security information and instill a sense of collective responsibility among citizens. Prominent areas such as Ransoo Town, Main Market, Bus Stand, Mahore Town and Tempo Stand were covered, amplifying awareness about security protocols and garnering public cooperation for the smooth conduct of the Parliamentary Election-2024.

The flag march was carried out to instil confidence among general public so that they can exercise their franchise on the polling day without fear or coercion.

In a concerted effort to engage the community and garner public support for the electoral process, District Police Reasi, in collaboration with CAPF organized a citywide road march under the stewardship of 𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦.

Continuing its Endeavour to w**d out social crime from the society, District Police Reasi under the overall supervision of SSP Reasi, arrested 05 Gamblers and recovered stake money of Rs 25050/-.

Acting on specific information about Gambling in their jurisdictional area of Katra, a special team of Police Station Katra orconducted a raid at Chintamani, Katra and arrested gamblers along with stake money.

Police party of Police Station Katra under the supervision of SDPO Katra Sh. Surinder Singh Baloria-JKP and SHO P/S Katra Sh. Nishant Gupta raided at Chintamani, Katra & arrested 05 gamblers identified as namely 1.Hans Raj S/O Hari Sara, 2.Baldev Singh S/O Prem Singh, 3. Ashok Kumar S/O Chunu Lal, 4.Angrez Singh S/O Romal Singh ( all R/O Village Badotta, Panchari) 5. Sandlot Singh S/O Pyar Singh R/O Gehlot, Panchari).

Taking cognizance into the matter, all the gamblers were booked under section 13 of Gambling Act at Police Station Katra.

While sharing the details 𝗦𝗿. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮- 𝗜𝗣𝗦 conveyed that Reasi police is committed to eradicate the social crime from the society and any person found indulging in such illegal activities will be dealt strictly under laws.

In light of evolving security scenarios and the impending Parliamentary Election-2024, 𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦, spearheaded a crucial initiative to fortify security measures in the district. A comprehensive briefing convened for GOs of District Police Reasi, underscored the paramount importance of heightened vigilance and unwavering dedication in ensuring the safety and security of citizens during this pivotal electoral process.
The meeting was attended by Addl. SP Reasi, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi, DySP DAR Reasi, SDPO Mahore, SDPO Arnas, SDPO Katra, Dy.SP Bhawan and other Police officers of the district.

During the briefing, SSP Reasi provided strategic directives aimed at enhancing preparedness and fostering seamless coordination among various security agencies. Emphasizing the proactive role of law enforcement, crucial guidelines were delineated to ensure a robust security apparatus, specifically tailored to address the unique challenges associated with the Parliamentary Election-2024.

Thereafter, a detailed briefing was given by the Addl. SPs and SDPOs with regard to various important security related issues of their respective jurisdiction and also with regard to the security arrangements are being planned for forthcoming Parliamentary Elections.

In meeting a detailed and thorough discussion held on various crucial aspects pertaining to the smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming elections in the district.

Necessary Instructions were given by SSP Reasi that checking and frisking at various Nakas on highways and also in city and its outskirts should be geared up and made purposeful. The manpower manning these Nakas need to be properly supervised/ briefed by the SDPOs/SHOs and make them accountable.

SSP Reasi also stressed on coordination with civil administration and security forces and keep an eye on activities of ANEs and trouble makers.

One person (name withheld) of Tulli (Udhari), Tehsil Chassana, District Reasi, lodged a written complaint on 21 of February 2024 at Police Station Chassana that her daughter (name withheld) age about 26 yrs had left her home without informing anyone and had not returned. He started searching for her but she could not be found anywhere.

Sensing the gravity of incident 𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦 constituted a special team to trace out the missing girl at the earliest.

Enquiries from the family, relatives & friends gave sufficient clues of the missing girl & accordingly sources of police were activated.

After meticulous track-following, with the help of technical team of District Police Reasi & consistent hectic efforts, team of Police Station Chassana zeroed upon the location of the girl at Yaripura District Kulgam.

Police team headed by SHO Chassana Inspector Ranjeet Rao raided at different locations and recovered the missing girl. After completing all the legal formalities the missing girl reunited with her family. All family, relatives & community people expressed gratitude to Police for sincere efforts in searching & recovering the missing girl.

Reasi Police is being regularly briefed to remain sensitive towards crime against women especially minors further appealed that girls should remain aware of fraudsters who remain on the mission of spoiling the life of innocents.

Continuing the drive against drug abuse and illicit liquor launched by District Police Reasi. Reasi Police recovered illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger involved in smuggling the illicit liquor.

Police party of Police Post Kakryal laid a surprise naka at Sool area, During checking and frisking apprehended one person namely Manohar Lal S/O Dewan chand R/ O Seen Brahmana Udhampur and recovered 38 bottles of 250 ml JK special desi whisky carrying in scooty bearing Registration No. JK14J 2594.

In this regard cognizance taken and FIR U/S 48 (a) of Excise Act stands registered at P/S katra. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

In continuous drive against Drug Abuse launched by District Police Reasi under Operation JEEVANDAN, surprise naka & checking is being conducted to check the offenders & criminals.

Police team of Police Station Reasi laid a surprise naka at Sulla area, while conducting surprise checking, apprehended one person namely Rashid S/O Mohd Aslam R/O W. No.02, Reasi and co-passenger namely Shajad Ahmed S/O Abdul Aziz R/O W. No.08 Reasi. During checking the Naka incharge recovered he**in like substance (2grms) from the dashboard of the said vehicle.

On this FIR No.60/2024 US 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation is ongoing to unearth backward and forward linkage.The whole operation was led by SHO Reasi Chaman Gorka under supervision of DySP HQ Reasi Neeraj Padyar-JKPS.

𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦 while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, on one hand awareness programs are being organized in every nook and corner of the district and on the other hand drug peddlers are being booked under PITNDPS Act on regular basis, whereas Reasi Police also started Anti Drug Helpline Number 9070907017 for general public where identity of caller will be kept secret.

SSP Reasi while giving tough message for drug peddlers added that there is no space for Drug Peddlers in Reasi. Drug peddlers should shun the path of spoiling our generation and must return to mainstream otherwise they will be dealt with Iron hand.

DEO Reasi inspects various polling stations

REASI, MARCH 26: District Election Officer (DEO), Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan today conducted thorough inspection of various polling stations in the 57-Reasi constituency to evaluate the preparations for the Parliamentary Elections 2024.

During the inspection, the DEO visited polling stations at Govt. Girls High Secondary School Reasi, Govt. High School Gran, and Govt. High School Ghair Mari. He assessed the provision made for basic amenities like electricity, water supply, sanitation facilities and accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) voters.

The DEO emphasized that all polling stations should be well prepared and sanitized for the elections. He instructed the concerned authorities to promptly address any deficiencies to ensure a hassle-free voting experience for the voters.

*REASI POLICE REMEMBERS MARTYRS ON THE EVE OF HOLI*

District Police Reasi remembers their braveheart martyrs for the supreme sacrifice that they have made for the nation.

To remember martyr's supreme sacrifice, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi Sh. Neeraj Padyar-JKPS alongwith SHO REASI and I/C PP Dera Baba visited homes of martyr Sgct Kamal Kishore of Gran Morh and Ct. Joginder Pal of Bhabber and presented some succour to the family members as a token of love from J&K Police and listened their grievances.

On 17/03/2024 Police Station Katra received an information from reliable sources that some goons stabbed one Deepak Kumar @ Deepu s/o Bodh Raj R/O Aghar Jitto, Katra with sharp edge weapon at Aghar Jitto Katra, leaving behind the injured in serious condition.
Subsequently Case FIR No. 82/2024 U/S 307/341/34 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Katra and police swung into action and injured person shifted to CHC Katra for treatment.
Sensing the gravity of incident 𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦 constituted a special team to trace out the accused at the earliest.
Special team laid Nakas in and around the Katra town to arrest accused persons. After meticulous track-following, with the help of technical team & consistent hectic efforts, team of Police Station Katra zeroed upon the location of the accused.
During the search, all the 04 accused persons namely Sunil Sharma @ Sunilu S/O Parshotam Sharma 2. Himanshu Sharma @ Rajju S/O Ramesh Sharma 3. Rohit Kumar @ Rotu S/O Parshotam Sharma 4. Mukesh Kumar @ Mukeshu S/O Kushal Chand all R/O Village- Aghar jitto, tehsil Katra district Reasi, were arrested and recovered sharp edged weapons on their disclosures i.e. Dharat 01,Toka 01 & cricket bat 01. The whole operation is led by SHO Katra insp Nishant Gupta.

SSP Reasi expressed that such barbaric act done by Criminals is rarest of the rare, Such Criminals a black spot on our social fabric. She further stressed that investigation shall incorporate each and every evidence to ensure justice is done in this heinous act at an earliest.

Nodal Officer MCMC Reasi holds interaction with media personnel

REASI, MARCH 21: Nodal officer for Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) Reasi, Nasir Ahmed today engaged in an interactive session with media personnel here regarding the Lok Sabha Election 2024.

The session was aimed to address concerns and queries of media professionals regarding coverage and dissemination of election related information.

During the session, the Nodal officer listened to various demands and inquiries from media representatives. He also briefed the media about the MCC and the MCMC.

He emphasised on the significance of adhering to MCC guidelines to uphold the integrity of electoral process and ensure fair and unbiased media coverage. He assured continued cooperation and support from the administration for media coverage of the Lok Sabha Election 2024.
