DC Reasi Flags Off Student Rally to Promote Voter Awareness

Reasi, January 25: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ms. Nidhi Malik, IAS, flagged off a vibrant rally of students from the DC Office Complex to mark the 15th National Voters’ Day. The rally aimed to raise awareness about the importance of voting and to encourage greater participation in the democratic process. Students, accompanied by officials, carried banners and slogans to spread the message of voter empowerment throughout the town.

Following the rally, an event was organized at the Auditorium in the DC Office Complex, where a presentation on the electoral process was delivered. Students actively participated by sharing their insights and creative ideas about voter awareness. During the program, the Deputy Commissioner distributed Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) to newly eligible voters who had recently turned 18, symbolizing their formal inclusion in the democratic process. A voting pledge was also taken after the event

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of active participation in elections, describing voting as the "festival of democracy." She encouraged citizens, especially the youth, to engage wholeheartedly in the electoral process and thanked officials for their dedication and hard work during recent elections. DC Reasi Flags Off All-Women Bike Rally to Mark 10 Years of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

Reasi, January 22, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ms. Nidhi Malik, IAS, today flagged off an All-women bike rally from the DC Office Complex to celebrate a decade of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative.The rally symbolized women’s empowerment and highlighted the importance of education and equality for girls. Women from various walks of life enthusiastically participated, showcasing their strength and determination.

The event commenced with a pledge to uphold the values of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao,reaffirming the collective commitment to supporting and uplifting girls.
As part of the celebration, a signature campaign on Nari Shakti was also organized, where the Deputy Commissioner, along with officials and participants, marked their signatures to commemorate the occasion.

Deputy Commissioner Reasi Reviews Arrangements for forthcoming Mahashivratri Mela 2025 at Shivkhori

Reasi, January 20, 2025: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi, Ms. Nidhi Malik, IAS, chaired a comprehensive meeting today to finalize the arrangements for the 3 day forthcoming Mahashivratri Mela 2025 at Shivkhori commencing from 25th February.
The meeting brought together officials from various departments to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for devotees attending the festival.

During the meeting Deputy Commissioner stressed that the timely ex*****on of all responsibilities and directed departments to prioritize public safety and convenience during the event. SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh also discussed Security preparations.

The DC reviewed security and crowd management measures to ensure smooth operations. She instructed the health department to deploy medical teams with ambulances and fire services to remain on high alert throughout the Mela. Emphasizing the importance of uninterrupted basic amenities, Ms. Malik directed officials to ensure a continuous water and electricity supply during the event. Additionally, she highlighted the need for a well-coordinated traffic management plan to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and visitors.

Calling for collective efforts, DC Ms.Nidhi Malik encouraged all stakeholders to work diligently to make the Mahashivratri Mela a grand success. She also emphasized the beautification and illumination of Shivkhori town to enhance the spiritual ambiance of the festival. In continuous drive against Drug Abuse launched by District Police Reasi, surprise naka & checking is being conducted to check the offenders & criminals.

Police team of Police Station Reasi led by SHO Reasi laid a surprise naka, while conducting surprise checking, apprehended one person namely Vikram Singh @ Sahil S/O Sunder Singh R/O Trintha, Tehsil & District Reasi. During checking, the Police team recovered he**in like substance (0.82 grams) from his possession.

On this FIR No. 09/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation is ongoing to unearth backward and forward linkage.

Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, on one hand awareness programs are being organized in every nook and corner of the district and on the other hand drug peddlers are being booked under PITNDPS Act on regular basis, whereas Reasi Police also started Anti Drug Helpline Number 9070907017 for general public where identity of caller will be kept secret.

Reasi Police while giving tough message for drug peddlers added that there is no space for Drug Peddlers in Reasi. Drug peddlers should shun the path of spoiling our generation and must return to mainstream otherwise they will be dealt with Iron hand.

Deputy Commissioner Reasi chairs meet to finalise arrangements for Republic Day celebrations.

Reasi,18 January,2025: To finalize the arrangements for the smooth celebration of Republic Day function 2025 at Conference hall, DC office complex a meeting of District Officers of different departments was held under the Chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ms. Nidhi Malik, IAS.

After threadbare discussions on various agenda points , Deputy Commissioner issued directives regarding seating arrangement, barricading at the venue, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, transport, distribution of prizes, Illumination of government buildings, first-aid, PAS, Fire-tenders etc.

The DC asked all officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in time for the smooth and enthusiastic celebrations of the National event. She called upon the officers and employees of all departments to remain present at the venue, on the day of function.

The DC emphasised everyone to celebrate Republic Day as a festival with great fervour and enthusiasm.Different committees like the Reception Committee, Illumination Committee, etc were also directed to complete their work in stipulated timeframe.

DDC Reasi Chairs District Level Review meeting to review Banking Sector performance in District.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Ms. Nidhi Malik, IAS chaired District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to discuss the achievements of banking sector under district credit schemes.

During the meeting , The DDC took overview of Banking sector performance in District Reasi.She emphasised that the banks will low Credit-Deposit Ratio should work on improving it.She also encouraged banks to increase banking pe*******on at far and remotest places to increase financial inclusion.

DDC Ms. Nidhi Malik held Discussion on various agendas like Flow of credit to priority sector, key indicators of banks and their achievements. She highlighted that special emphasis should be given on sectors like renewable energy and building social infrastructure.

Reasi, December 11, 2024: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Ms. Nidhi Malik, IAS, chaired a Block Diwas event at PWD Dak Bungalow, Sungri in Block Chassana to address public grievances and review ongoing developmental works in the Mahore and Chassana belt. The event witnessed active participation from the local community and officials, with MLA Gulabgarh (ST) constituency, Mr. Khurshied Ahmed, also present.

During the interactive session, DDC Reasi listened to the concerns and demands of the people, assuring them of timely and necessary actions. On-the-spot directions were issued to officers to expedite pending works and submit action-taken reports. She laid special emphasis on the Budhal-Mahore-Gool road project, urging executing agencies to fast-track construction to enhance connectivity in the region. Ms. Malik also visited Chassana market to inspect its condition and interacted with shopkeepers and residents to understand their challenges firsthand.

Addressing the gathering, DDC Reasi reiterated her commitment to delivering tangible outcomes. She assured the public of swift resolution of their issues and promised a follow-up visit soon to review progress. ( 17 drug peddlers arrested in last two days by Reasi Police)

Continuing the drive against the menace of drug Abuse, District Police Reasi under the command of Sh. Paramvir Singh Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered 6.25 grams of he**in-like substance from him.

Acting on a specific information team of Police Station Reasi led by Sho Reasi laid a surprise Naka at IRP Chowk Reasi and during checking and frisking intercepted and arrested notorious drug peddler Altaf Ahmed, son of Late Ghulam Ahmed Malik, resident of Ward No. 7, Muslim Mohalla, Reasi, while he was traveling on black Scooty (JK20C-3123) from Sula towards Reasi along with the contraband.

Case FIR No. 211/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS stands registered at Police Station Reasi to unearth forwarded and backward linkages with other drug peddlers .

While sharing the details about the operation, *SSP Reasi*,conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multi-pronged strategy to deal with the menace of drug abuse in District Reasi.

Pertinently Reasi Police booked and arrested 16 notorious drug peddlers and lodged them in judicial custody yesterday.

SSP Reasi further added that drug peddlers should shun the path of spoiling our future generations otherwise they will have to face the music of the law as no one will be allowed to spoil our youth.

In a major strike against drug peddlers , District Police Reasi under the command of Sh. Paramvir Singh Sr. Superintendent of Police Reasi,
booked 16 drug peddlers and lodged them in District Jail Reasi.

Today Teams of District Police Reasi raided on different hotspots for drug peddling in Reasi and Katra town and picked up 10 suspected Drug peddlers from Reasi Town and 06 drug peddlers from Katra town and booked them in preventive sections of BNS and Lodged them in Judicial custody.

Sharing the details Sr. Superintendent of Police Reasi Mr. Paramvir conveyed that on one hand Reasi Police is taking punitive actions against drug peddlers and they are being booked in NDPS ACT, on the other hand Preventive action is being taken against suspected drug peddlers which is required to save our future generations.

SSP further added that in coming days more such actions will be taken by Police and Reasi Police will leave no stone unturned to save the youth of district Reasi.
