ক্লাবের হ্যাম রেডিয়োর সদস্যেরা হাতেকলমে দেখালেন, ভার্টিক্যাল অ্যান্টেনা এবং রেডিয়ো ট্রান্সমিটার বা হাই ফ্রিকোয়েন্সি রেডিয়ো কী ভাবে নিজেরাই গড়ে দেশ-বিদেশে যোগাযোগ করা হয়। ক্লাবের এক সদস্য অরুনাভ দে বলেন, "আয়লা, আমপান বা ইয়াসের মতো ঘূর্ণিঝড়ে বিদ্যুতের খু্ঁটি উপড়ে গিয়ে বা মোবাইল টাওয়ার অকেজো হয়ে যোগাযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন হলে হাই ফ্রিকোয়েন্সি রেডিয়ো বেশ কার্যকরী হয়। ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের পূর্বাভাস পেলেই সম্ভাব্য ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত এলাকায় গিয়ে হ্যাম রেডিয়োর সদস্যরা উদ্ধারকাজেও সাহায্য করেন। বিদেশে এ সব যন্ত্রের দাম কয়েক লক্ষ টাকা। তবে আমরা বাড়িতে বসেই কম খরচে তা তৈরি করে কাজ চালাচ্ছি।" | Anandabazar Patrika | Via.
