In continuous drive against Drug Abuse launched by District Police Reasi under Operation JEEVANDAN, surprise naka & checking is being conducted to check the offenders & criminals.

Police team of Police Station Reasi laid a surprise naka at Sulla area, while conducting surprise checking, apprehended one person namely Rashid S/O Mohd Aslam R/O W. No.02, Reasi and co-passenger namely Shajad Ahmed S/O Abdul Aziz R/O W. No.08 Reasi. During checking the Naka incharge recovered he**in like substance (2grms) from the dashboard of the said vehicle.

On this FIR No.60/2024 US 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation is ongoing to unearth backward and forward linkage.The whole operation was led by SHO Reasi Chaman Gorka under supervision of DySP HQ Reasi Neeraj Padyar-JKPS.

𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦 while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, on one hand awareness programs are being organized in every nook and corner of the district and on the other hand drug peddlers are being booked under PITNDPS Act on regular basis, whereas Reasi Police also started Anti Drug Helpline Number 9070907017 for general public where identity of caller will be kept secret.

SSP Reasi while giving tough message for drug peddlers added that there is no space for Drug Peddlers in Reasi. Drug peddlers should shun the path of spoiling our generation and must return to mainstream otherwise they will be dealt with Iron hand.

On 17/03/2024 Police Station Katra received an information from reliable sources that some goons stabbed one Deepak Kumar @ Deepu s/o Bodh Raj R/O Aghar Jitto, Katra with sharp edge weapon at Aghar Jitto Katra, leaving behind the injured in serious condition.
Subsequently Case FIR No. 82/2024 U/S 307/341/34 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Katra and police swung into action and injured person shifted to CHC Katra for treatment.
Sensing the gravity of incident 𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦 constituted a special team to trace out the accused at the earliest.
Special team laid Nakas in and around the Katra town to arrest accused persons. After meticulous track-following, with the help of technical team & consistent hectic efforts, team of Police Station Katra zeroed upon the location of the accused.
During the search, all the 04 accused persons namely Sunil Sharma @ Sunilu S/O Parshotam Sharma 2. Himanshu Sharma @ Rajju S/O Ramesh Sharma 3. Rohit Kumar @ Rotu S/O Parshotam Sharma 4. Mukesh Kumar @ Mukeshu S/O Kushal Chand all R/O Village- Aghar jitto, tehsil Katra district Reasi, were arrested and recovered sharp edged weapons on their disclosures i.e. Dharat 01,Toka 01 & cricket bat 01. The whole operation is led by SHO Katra insp Nishant Gupta.

SSP Reasi expressed that such barbaric act done by Criminals is rarest of the rare, Such Criminals a black spot on our social fabric. She further stressed that investigation shall incorporate each and every evidence to ensure justice is done in this heinous act at an earliest.

J&K Police Wrestler Babloo Lifts 8th Ser Sundwan Kesari Dangal Title
Katra, October 02: Wrestler Babloo of J&K Police resident of Basantgarh
in Udhampur District lifted 8th annual Ser Sundwan Dangal Title by
defeating wrestler Munir of Nagrota in the main bout that lasted for 19
Minutes at Government High School Ser Sundwan in Tehsil Bhomag and
District Reasi.
Winner of 1st malli bout wrestler Babloo was cash awarded with Rs.
7,000/= along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta, while runner-up
Wrestler Munir got Rs. 5,000/=.
Dangal was organized by Dangal Committee Pyt. Halqa Ser Sundwan Bhomag
in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the
overall supervision of Panch Nasib Singh (President), Retd. Headmaster
Dhani Ram and Vachiter Singh (Teacher).
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma was
the chief guest on the occasion. Social Activist and prominent Wrestling
promoter Sohan Singh Thakur (Sonu) was the guest of honour.
The bouts were officated by Sat Paul Verma, Om Parkash Verma, Mohd.
Nazir, Pawan Kumar, Kartar Singh and Baldev Raj Sharma.
55 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal and cash prizes of
Rupees Two Lakh has been distributed among the winner and runner-up
wrestlers.
Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also President Senior Citizens Welfare Forum
Katra (Regd.) honoured a prominent social activist Durga Dass of Village
Ser Sundwan (Age 81 Years Old, senior most person of the area who
witness the Dangal). Sharma also honoured President Ser Sundwan Dangal
Committee Nasib Singh by presenting him Mata Ki Chunari and Turben
(Pagri).
2nd main bout was won by Surjit Singh of J&K Police who defeated
wrestler Sagar of Delhi. 3rd bout was won by Ankush of Delhi who
defeated Madan Singh of Akhara Roun Domail (Udhampur) and 4th bout was
won by Subash Singh of Reasi who defeated Bablu of Bisnah.
Members of Ser Sundwan Dangal Committee who helped for smooth conduct
of Vishal Dangal included Panch Nasib Singh (President), Retd.
Headmaster Dhani Ram, Vachiter Singh (Treasurer), Sanjay Singh
(Secretary), Gulshan Singh, Bodh Raj, Karnail Singh, Gian Chand, Rakesh
Singh, Sohan Singh and Angrej Singh.
Prominent Persons present included Sarpanch Amar Nath, Ratten Chand
(Teacher), Rumal Singh, Prem Singh, Devinder Singh (Manghu), Balwant
Singh, Romesh Bhagat, Inderjeet Sharma, Uttam Singh and Kartar Singh.
Other Results:- Raj Singh of Samba beat Ali of Roun Domail, Shivam of
Delhi beat Chain Singh of Roun Domail, Sahil of Reasi beat Gopal of
Jindrah. Bout played between Rakesh of Billawar V/s Kharpu of Jammu
ended in a draw.

22-09-23, Katra. Reasi District Archery Championship inaugurated today at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Sports Complex, Katra by Sh. Vipan Bhagat, Asstt. Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB by cutting the ribbon. Earlier, Sh. Arun Sharma, President Archery Association of Reasi welcomed Chief Guest Sh. Vipan Bhagat, Asstt. Chief Executive Officer, Guest of honour Sh. Abhishek Sharma, Nodal Officer Sports Complex and the participants. This event is being conducted by Archery Association of Jammu & Kashmir UT in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board under the aegis of J&K Sports Council. Archers from all over Reasi district are competing in various categories viz Sub Jr., Junior and Senior. On the first day the Qualification rounds were conducted in all three categories for boys and girls. On second day the final matches and prize distribution was conducted. In the prize distribution ceremony Sh. Abhishek Sharma was Chief Guest whereas Sr Press Club Member were the Guest of Honour. The winners of the event shall represent District Reasi in JK UT Archery Championship. The competition was officiated by Ms. Abhilasha Choudhary, Asstt. Archery Coach, SMVD Sports Complex.

*ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON INVESTIGATION OF NDPS CASES; FOOLPROOF INVESTIGATIONS LEADS TO CONVICTION: SSP REASI*

(Team of Investigators of ANTF delivered lecture on investigation under NDPS Act)

With the aim to improve investigation skills in the cases under NDPS Act, Reasi Police organized one day workshop on cases under NDPS Act and procedure to be followed by investigating officers of district police Reasi.

In the workshop besides ASP’s, DySP HQ, SDPO’s, Sr.PO, SHO's investigating officers- Sub Inspectors, Probationary Sub Inspectors.

The team of officers of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) headed by DySP Shamsher Singh, a premier investing agency of J&K police with rich experience of busting networks of drug peddlers & booking them under law delivered a lecture. Going into threadbare details on Investigation under NDPS Act and destruction of illegal crops.

Team of ANTF delivered lecture with special emphasis on role of Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (SAFEMA) in forfeiture of Property collected as proceeds of drugs.

A brain storming session of officers deliberated on common procedural omissions during investigation while seizing the banned drugs & collecting related evidences under NDPS Act as well as ‘benefits of doubts’ being drawn by accused persons.

Officers from ANTF spoke on relevant sections of NDPS Act and role of investigating officers in doubts-free collection of evidences by following the laid down procedure under Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Team also shared their experiences through case studies and judgments on the Act with the Participants.

Sh. Amit Gupta Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi who remained present during the session Conveyed that aim behind this course is to upgrade investigating skills.
Investigating officers of police are important component of justice delivery system in the country & it is must to strengthen them by empowering with improved knowledge & skills. He said that target is to achieve highest standards of investigation which is prerequisite for improving conviction rate. District Police Reasi is executing the plan of upgrading the police on all fronts including investigation and law and order, for this courses and refresheres are being organized at regular intervals.

"Grand Inauguration of 'Ayushman Bhava' Nationwide Healthcare Campaign at CHC Katra:

*A Visionary Step towards Universal Health Coverage"*

Sep 13 Reasi Katra, An event took place at CHC Katra to virtually launch the "Ayushman Bhava" campaign, with the participation of the Hon'ble President of India and the Hon'ble LG of J&K UT. This campaign, overseen by Dr. Gopal Dutt, the BMO of Katra, is a nationwide healthcare initiative by the Government of India (GOI). It aims to ensure comprehensive healthcare coverage, reaching every village and town through three key components: Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0 (for 100% enrollment in Ayushman Bharat), Ayushman Melas at HWC & CHC levels, and Ayushman Sabha in every village and Panchayat. The goal is to achieve universal health coverage and provide healthcare for all. The event was attended by Sh. Tara Chand, a Councillor, along with representatives from the ICDS and education departments. Additionally, all the CHO's of HWC and officials/officers from Health Block Katra were present. The campaign's on-ground activities will be implemented during Sewa Pakhwada from September 17, 2023, to October 2, 2023.
